Harrison Ford endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in a video published by Rolling Stone on November 2, 2024, three days before the U.S. presidential election. He said he was voting for the Democratic ticket and urged Americans to work together, framing his support around the rule of law, science, and a president who serves everyone.
Why did Harrison Ford endorse Kamala Harris and Tim Walz?
In the video, Ford described his public endorsement as an unusual step: after voting for decades, he decided to tell people he had never met whom he was voting for and why. He said he did not agree with every policy and did not consider the candidates perfect. Instead, he pointed to what he saw as shared commitments to the rule of law, science, and governing for all Americans.

“These two people believe in the rule of law. They believe in science,” Ford said in the endorsement video published by Rolling Stone.
What did Ford mean by “a president who works for us all”?
Ford’s closing appeal was for Americans to work together again and elect a president who works for everyone. “All we need is to work together again,” he said, followed by: “All we need is a president who works for all of us again.” The headline’s phrase captures that appeal rather than a policy proposal or a claim that he agreed with every position taken by Harris and Walz.

What did Ford say about Donald Trump?
Ford contrasted his support for Harris with his criticism of Donald Trump. In the video, he argued that Trump had turned Americans against one another and embraced dictators and tyrants. A contemporaneous Yahoo report published November 2, 2024 quoted Ford describing Harris as someone who would protect people’s right to disagree with her and debate policy. He contrasted that with Trump, saying, “The other guy, he demands unquestioning loyalty, says he wants revenge.”
These are Ford’s campaign-period arguments and characterizations, not findings independently established by the cited reports. The endorsement documents his stated reasons for supporting Harris and Walz; it does not by itself assess the candidates’ records or verify his broader accusations.
