Those connections make the reunion broader than its original two-star pairing, though the available reporting does not establish a complete guest list.
Is Happy’s Place a Reba reunion?
Yes—both in front of and behind the camera. In her official announcement, McEntire described Happy’s Place as a reunion with her Reba co-star Melissa Peterman and with Reba co-executive producers Kevin Abbott, Michael Hanel, and Mindy Schultheis. The new sitcom centers on Bobbie, who inherits her father’s restaurant and learns she must share it with a half-sister she never knew she had. McEntire’s announcement also names her real-life partner Rex Linn among the cast.

Which Reba stars are on Happy’s Place?
Melissa Peterman returns as a regular
Peterman, who played Barbara Jean on Reba, is the most direct on-screen link between the two shows: she reunited with McEntire as part of the original Happy’s Place announcement. Their return together is the foundation of the reunion story, not its only connection.
Steve Howey guest-starred
Howey, another member of the Reba cast, appeared as a guest on Happy’s Place. In a December 2024 interview, he said Abbott, then the showrunner of Happy’s Place, invited him to play a character. Howey recalled: “Kevin Abbott, the showrunner for Reba, who’s now doing Happy’s Place, reached out to me and said, ‘I have this idea for this character and want to know if you want to come play with us.’” TV Insider reported on Howey’s appearance and the invitation.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher guest-starred in Season 2
Garcia Swisher, who played McEntire’s daughter Cheyenne on Reba, appeared in the Season 2 episode “Social Discontent.” She plays a Knoxville influencer who helps the restaurant promote itself on social media, giving the cast a story reason to make promotional spots together. TV Insider’s January 2026 report describes the episode and her role.
Why the reunion is bigger than the original announcement
The initial reunion paired McEntire and Peterman and brought back familiar creative leadership. Howey’s guest appearance and Garcia Swisher’s Season 2 visit show that the connection has extended to more former castmates over time. The named appearances make the reunion more than a two-star pairing, but the reporting cited here does not supply an exhaustive list or a definitive total of former Reba cast members who have appeared. It also does not confirm who may guest-star in the future.
