Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant is slated for theatrical release in 2027, and its official movie page now lists a “Super Teaser PV.” The film follows Karasuno’s Spring High quarterfinal against Kamomedai, where Shoyo Hinata faces Korai Hoshiumi in a contest tied to the series’ “Little Giant” motif. No exact release date has been announced.
What is the new Haikyu!! video?
The official movie page lists promotional videos titled “Protocol PV” and “Super Teaser PV.” The page includes a player for the Super Teaser PV, but the official material reviewed does not establish that it is a full-length trailer or specify its runtime. The official label is therefore the clearest way to describe it.
The project’s concept visual, announced by the Haikyu!! portal on August 19, 2026, presents Hinata and Hoshiumi facing one another at the same eye level. That description applies to the still image; it should not be mistaken for a confirmed shot-by-shot account of the video.
When does Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant come out?
The film is scheduled for theatrical release in 2027. The official announcements do not give a day or month, and they do not establish international theatrical dates, a streaming date, or a distributor. The official announcement dated December 21, 2025 introduced the 2027 window.

What match does the movie cover?
The movie adapts Karasuno High’s Spring High quarterfinal against Kamomedai. Hinata’s meeting with Hoshiumi gives the match its “Little Giant” stakes: both players are short in comparison with many of their peers, but are formidable attackers whose play challenges assumptions about height.
The match is one of two quarterfinals held simultaneously at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. The movie covers Karasuno versus Kamomedai; a separate special anime, Haikyu!! Where Monsters Go, is planned for 2027 and covers Fukurodani versus Mujinazaka. The official portal and Production I.G.’s December 22, 2025 announcement identify both projects and their matchups.

The official movie page credits Haruichi Furudate’s Haikyu!! manga, published in Jump Comics, as the source material. Susumu Mitsunaka is credited as both director and scriptwriter, and Production I.G. is credited for animation production. The page does not establish a full cast or list additional staff beyond those principal credits.
