What is the new Gundam Wing 30th-anniversary release?
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing – Operation 30th – is a commemorative video released on July 25, 2025. Bandai Namco Filmworks announced it at San Diego Comic-Con and said it features mobile suits and characters not seen in the original television anime. The official Japanese announcement credits Toru Iwasawa as director, Sakura Asagi as character designer, Hajime Katoki as mechanical designer, and Bandai Namco Filmworks as producer. Bandai Namco Filmworks’ anniversary announcement and the Japanese release notice document the project.
What is the new mecha design?
The anniversary announcement highlights Wing Gundam Zero Cloaked Custom, a newly designed mobile suit draped in a mantle. The video also introduces Adin Lowe and Meilan, characters absent from the original anime. This is a new design for the commemorative video; it is not, by itself, evidence of a newly released model kit.
Does the anniversary release include a new Gunpla kit?
The official anniversary sources reviewed do not announce a new 30th-anniversary Gunpla kit. They confirm the new animated mobile suit design and a separate home-video product, so the headline distinction matters: a newly designed mecha appearing in a video is not the same thing as a newly released plastic model.

Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America lists a related Hi-Resolution Model Wing Gundam EW kit as released in February 2019, with an original U.S. MSRP of $148. Its combination plastic and die-cast prebuilt frame can transform to Bird Mode; listed accessories include a buster rifle, beam sabers, and shield. That is an older kit, not the anniversary product. The date and MSRP are from Bandai America’s product listing; the MSRP should not be read as a current retail price.
What physical anniversary product was released in 2026?

How do the video, box set, and older kit differ?
| Item | Format and purpose | Date and status | What the official source establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Operation 30th | Commemorative video | Released July 25, 2025 | New mobile suits and characters; includes Wing Gundam Zero Cloaked Custom |
| Endless Waltz Special Edition 4K Remaster Box | Japanese home-video set | Released March 25, 2026; BCQA-0025 | 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, bonus Blu-ray, booklet and other bonuses; includes Operation 30th as a video bonus |
| Hi-Resolution Model Wing Gundam EW | Gunpla model kit for building and display | Released February 2019 | Older Wing Gundam EW kit; Bandai America listed a $148 original MSRP |
These are different kinds of releases, not alternative editions of one product. The 2026 box is for watching and collecting video; the 2019 kit is a model-building product. The official product sources do not establish a separate anniversary Gunpla release.
What else was announced for the anniversary?
The 2025 announcement also confirmed an anniversary manga by illustrator Sakura Asagi and screenwriter Katsuyuki Sumisawa. It bridges Endless Waltz and Frozen Teardrop. The announcement confirms the project and that its first chapter was available at that time; it does not establish current print availability. The official Gundam Wing anniversary site describes the television series as the second title in the alternative series and the first Gundam title broadcast in the United States.
