According to The Independent’s February 21, 2025 report, Grimes replied to an X post by Musk on February 20 with an appeal for him to respond. The outlet reported her words as:

“Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention.”
She also asked for an intermediary if Musk did not want to speak with her directly:

These are statements attributed to Grimes in posts that were later deleted. Her description of a “medical crisis” is not a confirmed diagnosis or an independently verified account of the child’s condition.

What was known about the child and the medical concern
The Independent reported that Grimes and Musk have three children, but the posts did not say which child she meant. They also did not disclose the nature of the alleged medical issue. Access’s February 21 coverage likewise noted that the child and the crisis were unspecified.
The cited reporting provides no medical records, clinician statement, diagnosis, treatment information, or medical figures. It establishes what Grimes said publicly, not whether a particular condition was present.

What contemporaneous reports said about Musk’s response
Access reported on February 21, 2025, that Musk had not publicly responded at that time. That is a date-bounded observation; it does not establish whether he responded later. The reports do not independently verify Grimes’s account that he was not responding to her privately.
TIME’s February 2025 interview coverage also noted that the posts had been deleted and said a representative declined a follow-up request for comment.
