Play Pass membership and TV compatibility are separate checks, and both can vary by country, account and device. Use the titles below as leads, then confirm each one in Google Play for your own TV before installing.
What the original Android TV list actually contained
The October 2019 roundup’s table contained 19 titles, despite describing the list as 18: four apps and 15 games. Its listed prices are historical October 2019 prices, not current prices. Neither those prices nor the titles’ present Play Pass status or TV compatibility should be assumed to remain unchanged. The original roundup is the source for this snapshot.

These descriptions reflect how the 2019 roundup characterized the titles, rather than a claim about current features: AccuWeather and Weather Live provide weather information; myTuner streams radio; White Noise offers ambient sound. The games span worm-style combat, bridge-building puzzles, platformers, action, role-playing, pinball, shooters and point-and-click adventure. The old article specifically cautioned that The Bug Butcher might not suit devices with less than 2 GB of RAM, and that Star Wars: KOTOR could be a substantial installation. Check current listings for present requirements and storage size.
Why this is not a current definitive list
Google says Play Pass has more than 1,000 apps and games, but catalog availability varies by country and titles can be added or removed. A title appearing in that catalog does not by itself mean it can be installed on a television. Conversely, a TV-compatible app is not necessarily covered by Play Pass. For a current answer, check two things independently: whether the title is included for your Play Pass account and region, and whether Google Play offers it for your specific TV. “Android TV support” here means official Google Play compatibility for the device—not merely that an APK might launch if sideloaded. Installability also does not guarantee a good television interface or convenient remote controls.
- Official TV compatibility: Google Play identifies the title as compatible with the associated television or makes it available to install there.
- Sideloading: manually installing an APK is outside that compatibility check. It can bring poor remote navigation, unsuitable orientation, update or billing problems, and performance or security concerns.
- Usability: an app may launch but require touch input, a keyboard, a mouse or a gamepad. Do not infer controller support from installability.
The relevant devices are televisions and streaming boxes running Android TV or Google TV with Google Play access. A Fire TV, Samsung Tizen TV, LG webOS TV or generic Android projector should not be presumed to support these Play Store titles in the same way.

How to verify a title before installing
Check Play Pass membership on a phone or tablet
- Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Select Play Pass, then search for the title or open its store listing.
- Look for the Play Pass badge or logo. Confirm using the Google account and country you intend to use on the TV.

Check TV compatibility on the web
- Open Google Play in a browser and find the title’s listing.
- Use the device selector or device filter to select the TV associated with your Google account.
- Check whether the listing identifies that device as compatible. If offered, choose the TV for remote installation.
Google explains device filtering and compatibility in its device compatibility instructions. The result is device-specific; a listing on your phone does not prove it is installable on your television.

Search directly on Android TV or Google TV
- Open the Apps section.
- Open the Google Play Store and search for the title.
- Open its listing and install it if the TV reports it as compatible.
These are Google’s standard Android TV app installation steps. The 2019 roundup described subscribing and browsing Play Pass on a phone or tablet, but that is a dated observation. Current Google documentation describes Play Pass through the Play Store on Android phones and tablets and does not establish a full Play Pass catalog interface on every TV software version.
What to do if a title is missing or awkward to use
The app appears on your phone but not the TV
Check that the TV is associated with the same Google account, use the device selector, and search from the TV itself. The app may not support that model, may be unavailable in your country, may have left Play Pass, or may have changed since 2019. Manufacturer-specific software can also affect availability. Google’s device filter guidance explains why results depend on devices associated with the account.

The app installs but does not feel made for a TV
Test directional navigation, back and menu buttons, text entry, sign-in, audio, and whether the app resumes properly after being suspended. For a game, pair a Bluetooth controller if the on-screen prompts or controls indicate one is needed; controller behavior depends on the game and TV device. The historical list alone does not establish which current releases are remote-friendly or gamepad-compatible.
Storage is tight
Check the current store listing and available TV storage before downloading larger games. The 2019 roundup highlighted KOTOR as a potentially large installation, but it did not establish a current download size. External or adoptable storage is device-dependent, so consult the TV or streaming-device maker’s instructions before relying on it.

What happens when Play Pass ends or a title leaves
Being installed through Play Pass does not mean you own a title permanently. Google says that when a title leaves the catalog, free apps and games may show ads or require payment for in-app items again; paid apps and games may remain usable for a limited period before requiring a separate purchase. If the subscription ends, installed apps and their data remain on the device, but access can be restricted, ads and in-app purchases can return, and the Play Pass tab disappears. Play Pass benefits apply only while a title is covered and the relevant subscription is active. Google also says a family manager can share Play Pass with up to five other family members, who must activate it on their own accounts; details are on the Play Pass page.
Keep a useful record when checking the list
Because the catalog and device support can change, a reliable current compatibility list needs a dated, reproducible check rather than a simple carry-over from 2019. Record the country and account used, TV model and software version, whether the Play Pass badge appeared, whether the TV listing reported compatibility, how installation was started, and any controller requirement. This distinguishes official TV support from a title that merely appears in a mobile catalog.
