It premiered in Italy on Sky Atlantic on 9 January 2026; Sky and NOW announced a UK debut for 28 July 2026.
What is Gomorrah – The Origins about?
The prequel follows Pietro Savastano before the events of the Gomorrah crime saga. Sky describes him as a tough kid from the poorest parts of Secondigliano, surviving through petty theft with his friends and dreaming of becoming like local criminal boss Angelo ‘A Sirena. After Pietro wins Angelo’s favour, a power struggle pulls him further into a violent life. His relationship with Imma raises the possibility of another path.
The story is set in a Naples shaped, in the series’ premise, by cigarette smuggling and the arrival of heroin. That period backdrop is part of the drama’s framing, rather than an independent historical account. Sky’s official description calls it the story of “how it all began” for Pietro, against the backdrop of a city in transformation.
