Gisele Bündchen’s short blonde look was a temporary transformation for a Zara campaign photoshoot in 2024—not evidence that she permanently cut or dyed her hair. Coverage described it both as a shaggy blonde hairstyle and as a chin-length, layered bob.
What was Gisele Bündchen’s blonde shag?
It was a campaign look created for the special Stefano Pilati collection for Zara. HOLA reported on October 3, 2024, that Bündchen wore a short, shaggy blonde style for the photoshoot with photographer Steven Meisel. Cosmopolitan’s October 8 account described a chin-length bouffant bob with layers, texture, and volume.
The descriptions overlap, but the reports do not establish a precise technical haircut name. “Shaggy blonde bob” is a useful shorthand; it should not be treated as a confirmed salon cut specification.
Was her short blonde hair real or permanent?
For this campaign, the look was temporary styling: HOLA explicitly said the transformation was only for the photoshoot. The reports do not establish that Bündchen made a lasting haircut or color change, or that she wears this look now.

Why did she wear the look?
The campaign paid homage to Italian actor Monica Vitti. Bündchen shared campaign images on Instagram and, in a caption quoted by Cosmopolitan, wrote: “Was so fun to play Monica Vitti for the lens of my dear friend Steven Meisel for the special @stefanopilati collection for @zara”. HOLA quoted the same caption.
How to ask for a similar cut and blonde color
Bring reference images and describe the result you want rather than relying on “the Gisele cut” as though it named one standardized technique. A stylist can adapt the general look to your hair and the amount of upkeep you can manage.

- Length and layers: Decide whether you want a chin-length bob, shorter layers, or a softer shaggy outline.
- Shape and styling: Discuss whether you prefer the campaign’s fuller, more voluminous finish or a looser, softer texture.
- Blonde tone: Agree on the brightness and contrast with your natural color, as well as how often you can return for maintenance.
- Hair texture: Ask how lightening and layering may affect your natural texture, especially if preserving curl definition is important to you.
In a May 19, 2022 Vogue profile, Bündchen’s colorist Bernardo Vasconcelos, founder of London’s BCO salon, said he tailors color to a client’s hair type and lifestyle, including how often they can return. He described painting color freehand and using as little bleach and color as possible, saying, “The hair will be healthier if you use fewer foils on it.” That is general advice from Vasconcelos, not the formula used for the Zara shoot.
Vasconcelos also cautioned that heavy lightening can affect curl definition for curly or afro-textured hair and that very light blonde can leave hair dry. He suggests asking for a “sun-kissed look” rather than simply requesting balayage. Treat that as his professional guidance, not a guarantee or a substitute for an assessment of your hair.

What is known about the styling and products?
The campaign coverage identifies the look’s short length, layers, texture, and volume, but does not name the haircutting technique, color formula, tools, or styling products used. A round brush or texturizing spray could be options to discuss for styling a similar voluminous, textured bob; neither is documented as having been used on the shoot.
In an April 10, 2026 Women’s Health interview about her general routine, Bündchen said she likes to air-dry day to day and uses heat protection for work styling. She also described conditioning the ends and sometimes braiding wet hair to dry into a wave. The interview was associated with her role as Garnier global ambassador and named Garnier Diamond Sleek Shine Spray; it is separate from the 2024 campaign and does not identify a product used to create that look.
