News reported that her name appeared in a 2015 email exchange included in DOJ-related Epstein records. The reported mention is not, by itself, evidence that she knew Epstein, was involved in his crimes, or that the email’s claims about her career were true.
Why was Gigi Hadid mentioned in the Epstein files?
In an April 4, 2026 report, E! News described a December 2015 email exchange between Epstein and a person whose identity was redacted. According to E! News, the other person asked how Gigi and Bella Hadid became models and made so much money. The exchange reportedly included a suggestion that their father had paid a modeling agency; Epstein denied that suggestion and then wrote that the sisters succeeded “because they follow directions, it’s that simple.”
That is a reported discussion about the sisters, not a report that either took part in Epstein’s crimes. The email’s speculation about their careers should not be treated as established fact.
What did Gigi Hadid say?
E! News reported that Hadid replied to a social-media user who challenged her for not addressing the files. She reportedly called it “Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context.” Hadid also reportedly said she had not commented earlier because she did not want to take attention away from Epstein’s victims’ stories.
#1 Best Overall
In the same reported reply, Hadid said she had never met Epstein and stated, “I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.” These are Hadid’s reported statements about her own experience; the email exchange, as described by E! News, does not establish otherwise.
Does the reported mention show that Hadid knew Epstein?
No. A person’s name appearing in a document does not by itself prove contact, affiliation, misconduct, or the truth of what another person says about them. In this case, E! News reported a mention in an email exchange and attributed a denial of any meeting or affiliation to Hadid. The available account does not establish that she knew Epstein.

What has been independently confirmed about the document?
The account of the email and Hadid’s reply here is attributed to E! News. The specific email and Hadid’s original social-media comment were not independently retrieved for this article, so their contents are presented as reported rather than as independently inspected source text.
The U.S. Department of Justice’s Epstein Library describes its collection as materials responsive under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Its landing page, displayed as last updated September 11, 2026, warns that technical limitations mean some materials may not be electronically searchable and that search results may be unreliable. That warning explains a limitation of searching the library; it does not independently verify the specific email described by E! News.
