Gerry Marsden died in January 2021. The original 1960s group is no longer performing with him, but the music continues onstage through Gerry’s Pacemakers, the touring act named by the band’s official website as its continuation. Its website lists four current members: Darren Tingey, Dean Hilborne, Jimmy Stanley and John Meaney.
What happened to Gerry Marsden?
Gerry Marsden, the singer and frontman associated with Gerry and the Pacemakers, died in January 2021. Liverpool FC’s tribute recorded his death and remembered the song most closely tied to the group’s lasting connection with the club: “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

The continuing stage act is presented as Gerry’s Pacemakers, rather than as the original group performing with Marsden. The band’s official website says Marsden asked for the music to be kept alive and for the Pacemakers to continue touring: “On retiring, Gerry asked that his music be kept alive and that The Pacemakers should continue touring.”
Who is in Gerry’s Pacemakers now?

Why “You’ll Never Walk Alone” remains part of the story
Liverpool FC says the Kop adopted Gerry and the Pacemakers’ recording of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in 1963, and identifies it as the club’s anthem. That association helped carry the song beyond its original release and keeps the group’s recording prominent in the club’s culture. Liverpool FC’s tribute to Marsden is dated January 3, 2021.

The band’s official homepage describes the group’s first three consecutive No. 1 hits as “How Do You Do It,” “I Like It” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” That is the band’s own account of its chart history. The same site explains the rationale for the present touring act: keeping the music alive after Marsden’s retirement.
Where to hear the original recordings
For the historic performances, Apple Music’s US catalog lists the original album How Do You Like It? (Mono & Stereo Versions) and compilations including You’ll Never Walk Alone (The EMI Years 1963–1966), A’s B’s & EP’s and The Best of Gerry & The Pacemakers. Catalog listings are a listening option, not evidence that a particular physical edition is in stock or available in every country. See the Apple Music US artist catalog for its listed recordings.

What to check before seeing the touring act
A Gerry’s Pacemakers concert is a live continuation of the music, not a performance by the original 1960s lineup with Marsden. The official site identifies the act and lists its members, but current dates and ticket availability should be checked directly before making plans. The available listings do not establish a current tour schedule or ticket inventory.
