Geri Halliwell-Horner and Christian Horner reportedly first met at the 2009 Monaco Grand Prix, but their romance began years later: they went public as a couple in March 2014. A 2025 retrospective by The Standard reports that Halliwell and Horner first met at the 2009 Monaco Grand Prix. Horner recalled a brief encounter; that meeting should not be confused with the start of their relationship.

They were dating by March 2014, when they went public as a couple, according to contemporaneous reporting by CBS News and The Standard’s later account. The available reporting places several years between their first reported meeting and their public relationship.

What Halliwell has said about the relationship
In an interview with The Sunday Times reported by The Independent in 2023, Halliwell reflected on how she acted around Horner: “I was quite grumpy to Christian, actually, and my sillier self came out. I was just real.” She also described the relationship as “really loving” and said, “We’re best friends.”

In a March 2025 interview reported by The Independent, Halliwell spoke about the couple’s home life and shared playfulness: “We like playing games too. The other day, in the kitchen, we were playing 20 questions – you’ve got to guess what the object is. We’re quite silly.” In the same report, she said she had not legally changed her name: “I haven’t legally changed anything — Horner is the name on my passport.” That is her statement at the time of that interview, not confirmation of any later change.
Children and blended family
Halliwell and Horner have a son, Monty, who was born in January 2017, according to The Standard’s retrospective. They also have children from previous relationships: Halliwell’s daughter Bluebell and Horner’s daughter Olivia. The family is therefore a blended family, with Monty their child together.

What is known about their relationship now?
The latest relationship-focused interview in the sources reviewed was published in March 2025. It records Halliwell’s comments about their domestic routines and her passport name, but does not establish their relationship status as of October 8, 2026. A dated interview should not be treated as proof of a later status.
Separately, the Associated Press reported in February 2024 that Red Bull was investigating allegations made against Horner by an employee. AP said the details were not publicly clear and noted that unsubstantiated claims and speculation were circulating. That episode is distinct from Halliwell’s relationship comments and does not, by itself, establish anything about the couple’s private relationship.
