The album The Concert for Bangladesh became available on major digital music services worldwide on August 9, 2024. That announcement was about listening to the album—not a new streaming release of the concert film. You can find the official links to music services through George Harrison’s music catalog; availability may vary by country and account tier.
Where to stream the album
George Harrison’s official site links to Spotify and Apple Music, and Apple Music currently displays album listings. Service catalogs and access can differ by location and subscription tier, so check the listing available to your account. The August 9, 2024 announcement was also published by UNICEF USA.

The album is not the concert film
The streaming announcement concerns the album. It does not announce that the 1972 concert film has newly arrived on a streaming service, or establish where the film can currently be watched. The official film page provides information about the documentary, but not a current streaming location.
What the album listings contain
The official announcement describes the historic collection as a triple-album box set and says it includes George Harrison’s original studio recording of “Bangla Desh” as a bonus track. Apple Music’s U.S. listing for The Concert for Bangladesh, viewed October 8, 2026, displays 21 songs and a duration of 1 hour 43 minutes. A separate U.S. listing titled The Concert for Bangladesh (Live), viewed the same day, displays 21 songs and a duration of 1 hour 26 minutes. The available listings do not explain the difference in runtime.

Apple Music’s standard album listing gives December 20, 1971 as the release date and displays ℗ 2005 Apple Records Inc. Those are catalog details shown on that listing, not the date of the 2024 streaming announcement.
Why the concerts mattered
The concerts took place at Madison Square Garden in 1971 to draw attention to the crisis in East Pakistan and support people displaced by it. George Harrison’s official film page says that by August 1971, 10 million East Pakistani refugees had fled across the border into India; the page does not show a publication year for that historical figure.

Harrison described the musicians’ shared purpose this way: “The musicians were great. I mean they completely put down their own egos to play together and to do something because the whole vibe of that concert was that it was something bigger than the lot of us.” Former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, quoted in the official announcement, said: “George and his friends were pioneers.”

The official announcement says all net proceeds after taxes will be donated to the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. It does not state a donation amount per stream, so listening should not be described as generating a specific charitable contribution.
