In a CBS News interview with correspondent Seth Doane published November 2, 2025, he connected that change in outlook to the supportive relationship they share. What Clooney said about aging
Asked how much aging factors in, Clooney answered, “Yeah, well, it’s aging or death. Those are the two options. I’m OK with it. I feel more grounded. Certainly I’m less angry.” His comment framed aging as something he has made peace with, while pointing to a change in how he responds to everyday situations.

He said that when he was younger, he might have wanted to be right about everything. Now, he is less likely to make a minor preference a point of conflict. As an example, he joked about whether to paint a wall red: if Amal wants that, he said, he does not care enough to argue.
How he connects that outlook to his marriage
Clooney described himself and Amal as having “never had a fight” or “an argument,” a claim he said people get “ticked off” when he repeats. He tied that description to his own willingness to let small matters go, and to the support they give one another: “We have a really amazing relationship because we’re also so supportive of each other.”

He also made clear that he does not assume he would have responded the same way earlier in life. Looking back, he said he might once have found things to “stick my chest out about.” His point was personal: with age, he has become less invested in proving himself over inconsequential choices.
The “never had a fight” line should be understood as Clooney’s account of his marriage, not as a verified description of the couple’s private dynamics. The interview offers his perspective on why he says they avoid arguments; it does not establish how every disagreement in their relationship is handled.

The interview’s family context
CBS’s accompanying feature placed the conversation alongside Clooney’s film Jay Kelly and his comments about family and balancing work with time for loved ones. That 2025 report identified Clooney as 64 and said he and Amal had eight-year-old twins at the time. Those ages are specific to the November 2025 report, not current-age claims.
