Game of Thrones: Kingsroad officially launched in its Western regions on May 21, 2025, for mobile and PC. A separate 2026 schedule lists another PC pre-launch on May 14 and a mobile grand launch on May 21, but its captured notice does not identify the territory. Netmarble’s later Global Content Alignment is a server and systems update—not the game’s original release.
When did Game of Thrones: Kingsroad officially release?
Netmarble announced the game’s Western availability on May 21, 2025. That release covered mobile and PC in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East. The announcement said the timing of an Asia launch would be shared later. Netmarble’s May 21, 2025 announcement is the source for that date and regional scope.
A separate official schedule, published April 17, 2026, lists a PC pre-launch for May 14, 2026, followed by a mobile grand launch on May 21, 2026. It names PC Launcher, Steam, and Epic Games for the pre-launch, and Google Play, Google Play Games, and the App Store for the grand launch. The schedule specifies UTC, but the available notice does not name a territory. It should therefore be treated as a distinct schedule, not as evidence that the 2025 release date was replaced or that the 2026 dates applied worldwide. See the official release schedule notice.
| Release event | Date | Platforms and scope |
|---|---|---|
| Western availability | May 21, 2025 | Mobile and PC; Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Middle East |
| PC pre-launch in separate schedule | May 14, 2026 (UTC) | PC Launcher, Steam, and Epic Games; territory not stated in the available notice |
| Mobile grand launch in separate schedule | May 21, 2026 (UTC) | Google Play, Google Play Games, and App Store; territory not stated in the available notice |
What is the October 2026 Global Content Alignment?
Netmarble announced the Global Content Alignment as a later server and systems update. Its September 14, 2026 announcement gave October 13, 2026, as the server launch date. The official landing page displayed October 14, 2026, alongside alignment material and described a pre-registration period ending October 13 UTC. The one-day discrepancy is unresolved in those official pages, so the two dates should not be collapsed into one confirmed date. Netmarble’s alignment announcement and its official landing page show the differing dates.

What the alignment is set to change
Netmarble says the redesigned server will revise progression, combat, visuals, the game economy, and multiplayer. Announced additions include a membership- and battle-pass-focused system, dual weapons, and multiplayer features called Elite Hideout, Honor Points, and Exchange Post. The company also lists navigation, interface, skip-function, and visual-quality updates.
What happens to existing Western Server characters?
According to Netmarble, players can keep their existing characters and gameplay on the Western Server or choose the redesigned server. The publisher says its reward program will be based on Western Server progression and cumulative purchase history. A Season 3 update featuring a Stormlands storyline was described as coming shortly afterward, without a specific date in the announcement.

What kind of Game of Thrones game is Kingsroad?
Netmarble describes Game of Thrones: Kingsroad as an open-world action RPG based on HBO’s series and officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of HBO. Players take the role of an heir to House Tyre, a small noble house in the North, and choose one of three classes: Knight, Sellsword, or Assassin. Netmarble places the story in the latter half of season four and says the game draws inspiration from George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels. The launch announcement and Netmarble’s game description provide these details.
In its launch announcement, Netmarble named King’s Landing, Castle Black, Highgarden, and the Wall among the locations players could explore, and mentioned characters including Jaime Lannister, Lord Varys, Cersei, Stannis Baratheon, and Olenna Tyrell. The same announcement described Storm’s End and Felwood as areas added with Chapter 3 at launch. These are publisher descriptions of the game’s setting and content.
