Fyre Festival’s brand-related assets sold on eBay in July 2025 for a reported $245,300—often rounded to $245,000 in headlines. LimeWire was later identified as the buyer. Its stated plans to reimagine the brand are not evidence that a new festival or product has launched.
How much did the Fyre Festival rights sell for?
The reported auction result was $245,300, according to Complex, which also reported 175 bids from 42 bidders. TheWrap and EDM.com used the rounded figure of $245,000 when describing the sale. The precise amount is the reported auction result; the available coverage does not establish that the underlying eBay listing or sale contract was independently examined.
What did the sale include?
Contemporary reporting described a package of Fyre Festival brand-related intellectual property, trademarks and social-media assets. That description does not establish that every asset or project associated with the name “Fyre” was part of the auction.
Separate Fyre-related interests McFarland retained
A December 2025 report by the New York Law Journal says Billy McFarland retained minority ownership in Fyre Festival Musical and Fyre Music Streaming. Those are separate projects and should not be confused with the brand-related assets reported as sold on eBay.

Who bought the rights, and what was planned?
EDM.com identified LimeWire as the buyer in a September 17, 2025 report. It said the company intended to reimagine the brand, drawing on internet lore and real-world activations. That report describes announced intentions; it does not confirm a completed relaunch, current event, or product.

The brand remained widely recognized after the 2017 Bahamas festival collapsed, with the promised luxury experience failing to materialize. TheWrap notes that Netflix and Hulu documentaries later covered the episode. The sale put that notoriety back in the spotlight, but it does not by itself signal a return of the festival.
