Season 3 does not reveal who the Man in Yellow is. The finale shows him kill Jim after warning that “knowledge comes with costs,” tying his arrival to the discoveries Jim has just heard about—but it gives no name, origin, or definitive explanation of his powers. The idea that he is the voice Jim heard over the radio remains a theory, not a confirmed answer.
Spoilers for From through Season 3, Episode 10, “Revelations: Chapter Two.”
What happens at the end of From Season 3?
Near the bottle tree, Jade and Tabitha play the melody Miranda once played on the violin. The children appear, and Tabitha understands their repeated word, “anghkooey,” to mean “remember.” She recovers memories linking her and Jade to earlier lives in the town and to repeated attempts to save the children. The finale connects Tabitha and Jade to previous incarnations, including Miranda and Christopher, without explaining every detail of how that cycle works.
Tabitha tells Jim what she and Jade have learned, then walks away in tears. A version of Julie arrives at the RV, apparently from another point in time. Ethan has called her a “story walker”: she can visit moments in the past or future. Julie is trying to warn Jim and change the story, but Ethan’s rule is that she can interact with events without changing them. Her intervention does not save Jim.

A man in a tattered yellow suit appears. He refers to Jade playing the violin, tells Jim “it didn’t have to be this way,” and says, “knowledge comes with costs.” He adds that he tried to warn Jim, then tears open Jim’s throat as Julie tries to intervene. The episode cuts to black.
Who is the Man in Yellow?
The finale does not identify him or explain where he came from. His remarks connect Jim’s death to the discoveries about Jade, Tabitha, and the children, but they do not establish whether he created the town, controls all its creatures, or has some other role.

TheWrap’s finale recap suggests he may be the voice that warned Jim over the radio, but presents that connection as an inference. The episode does not confirm it. Treat the radio voice, the Man’s identity, and his place in the town’s larger mythology as open questions.
What does the ending reveal about the children and Tabitha and Jade?
The strongest explanation the finale gives is that “anghkooey” means “remember.” The violin melody helps Tabitha and Jade recover memories of earlier lives in the town and their repeated efforts to save the children. Their connection to Miranda and Christopher is part of that reveal; the episode does not spell out every rule or implication of reincarnation.

That discovery immediately precedes Jim’s confrontation with the Man in Yellow. The sequence makes the danger of learning more feel central to the ending, but it does not establish that the Man is responsible for every threat the residents face.
Why does Fatima give birth to Smiley?
Fatima gives birth to Smiley, the creature Boyd had previously killed. That return unsettles the assumption that the night creatures can be permanently defeated. Fatima also describes a vision in which the creatures’ children were sacrificed after an unnamed “it” promised immortality. The finale does not identify that entity or explain the full mechanics behind the creatures’ return.

How the finale changes the story
Creator and executive producer John Griffin later described the Man in Yellow’s emergence and Jim’s death as “the end of the beginning.” In a TV Insider interview published after Season 4, Griffin said the story pivoted as Tabitha and Jade began to understand their purpose. That framing supports reading the finale as a major escalation, rather than as a complete explanation of the town’s mythology.
