In PerthNow’s 30 January 2024 review, Amanda and Sarria each awarded Circus After Dark: Nocturnal five stars. They praised its charismatic host and striking aerial and rope acts, describing it as a bold, adult-leaning circus and variety show. Their verdict was emphatic: “If Barbaroi impressed us, Circus After Dark: Nocturnal blew us out of the water with a cannonball to the face.”
What Amanda and Sarria liked about the show
The reviewers describe Nocturnal as entirely made in Western Australia, with host Karl bringing charisma and comedy-variety energy to the performance. Their account focuses on the visual impact and physical skill of the circus acts rather than a plot or documentary-style narrative.
- Bec opens with a moon apparatus.
- Joey performs quickly and holds poses on velvet ropes.
- Fay demonstrates strength on a hanging pole.
- Aerial and rope work, including silhouettes, shape the show’s striking stage imagery.
Is Circus After Dark: Nocturnal worth seeing?
For Amanda and Sarria, yes: both gave the 2024 performance five stars. That rating is their own review verdict, not an audience survey or a measure of wider consensus. Their praise centers on the show’s energetic host, visual variety and impressive physical performances.
Is Nocturnal suitable for families?
The reviewers call Nocturnal “very hot,” indicating a more adult-leaning tone. For children who might enjoy circus acts, they point to Kinetica’s milder, family-friendly show 2 Outrageous. This is the reviewers’ audience guidance; their article does not state an official age classification or entry-age rule.
