Fremantle’s rescheduled WA Day Festival is set for Sunday 11 October 2026 at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach. Entry is free. The advertised program includes cultural ceremonies, live music, family activities and a sunset fire-art finale; published listings disagree on whether the event ends at 6pm or 7pm, so check Celebrate WA’s latest update before you go.
When and where is the Fremantle WA Day Festival?
The festival is scheduled for Sunday 11 October 2026 at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach. It is the rescheduled Fremantle event: Visit Fremantle says the original 1 June date was cancelled because of bad weather. The City of Fremantle confirms the location and describes the festival as free. Celebrate WA lists hours of 11am–7pm, while Visit Fremantle lists 11am–6pm. The City of Fremantle event page does not specify hours. Confirm the closing time with the organiser before setting out.
The festival is presented by BHP, the State Government and Lotterywest, with support from the City of Fremantle. The City acknowledges the Whadjuk people as Traditional Owners of the Fremantle/Walyalup area.
What is planned for the festival?
Celebrate WA’s published program describes a community and cultural event with live entertainment, family activities and a sunset finale. These are announced program items, not a guarantee that every activity will run.

- The Spectacular Mermaid Aquarium Show and meet-and-greets, plus Unicorns by the Sea.
- Cooking with the Nonnas, children’s building and creative activities, mini kite making, WA-themed colouring and mascot appearances.
- A Barbagallo RAM Showcase and Corvettes of WA Car Club Showcase.
Sunset finale
Celebrate WA advertises “SUNSET OF FIRE,” a fire-art performance by the harbour at sunset. The event listing does not give a separate start time or further technical details.
What can you do at the WA Shipwrecks Museum?
The WA Shipwrecks Museum has a separate program on 11 October, with several free activities listed by the Western Australian Museum:

Yes. The City of Fremantle’s official festival page says, “FREE ENTRY – everyone welcome.” Celebrate WA describes the festival as family-friendly and suitable for all ages. Licensed areas are restricted to people aged 18 and over.
