The offers were described as free for a limited time. Check the price shown on the relevant retailer’s book page before downloading: an event listing does not establish that a title is still free now.
Does the event guarantee spicy romance novels?

For context, StuffYourKindle.org reports that the first event, held on December 26, 2014, featured more than 60 titles from 35 authors. That is a historical figure for the first event, not a typical size or a measure of later promotions.
