Highmore joked that he would not celebrate by jumping on a couch. He also said the phrase “my wife” sounded possessive to him, adding that he and his wife did not yet use that terminology and instead pointed to their rings. The remark was a joke about wording, not a stated objection to marriage.
Did he name his wife or share wedding details?
No name, wedding date, location, or ceremony details were disclosed in the reports of the interview. Highmore described his wife as British, but the coverage did not identify her. The September 27 interview date is the date he confirmed the marriage publicly; it does not establish when the wedding took place. The Irish Examiner’s September 29 report, credited to the Press Association, also notes that he did not reveal her name.
