The central claims were later borne out: Fortnite’s Avatar: Elements event ran from April 12 to May 3, 2024, bringing bending abilities, an event pass and Avatar-themed rewards to Chapter 5 Season 2.
What the February 2024 leak claimed
On February 26, 2024, GameSpot reported claims from Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey about a mid-season event pass, an Aang Outfit and an Appa Glider. The report said Epic had not officially announced the collaboration at that time. Its phrases “Upcoming Mid-Season Event Pass” and “Collect all 6 Books by completing quests to get the Appa Glider!” were leak wording attributed to an iFireMonkey post from February 25—not statements from Epic. GameSpot’s February 26 report also treated other possible characters as uncertain.

How Fortnite confirmed the collaboration
On April 8, GameSpot reported Fortnite’s announcement that Katara, Zuko and Toph were coming to the Item Shop and that the Elements event would begin April 12. Korra was already part of the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass. GameSpot’s April 8 coverage provides that pre-event character context.
Epic’s official Avatar: Elements event page documents the event’s dates and content. It began with the v29.20 hotfix on April 12, 2024, and ended May 3 at 2 AM ET. The event therefore confirmed the core of the earlier leak, but it was a past event—not a new 2026 announcement.

What the Avatar: Elements event added
Four bending techniques in Battle Royale
Players could find the techniques in shrines, chests or as ground loot. Epic described each as a gameplay ability:
- Waterbending: icy projectiles, with health restoration while the player was in water.
- Earthbending: throwable earth and defensive barriers.
- Firebending: ranged flames or an airborne fiery slam.
- Airbending: movement boosts and launches.
Epic said Olympian Powers were vaulted for the event. Its tournament notes excluded Earthbending, Firebending and Airbending from tournaments.
Free and premium pass rewards
The Elements Pass had a free track and a Premium Reward Track upgrade. The premium upgrade cost 1,000 V-Bucks during the 2024 event, according to Epic. Buying it automatically unlocked the Aang Outfit; Avatar State Aang was the track’s final reward. The free track included Sokka’s Space Sword Pickaxe. Premium rewards also included the Air Nomad Staff Pickaxe and Momo Messenger Back Bling.
How players earned the Appa Glider
Epic’s event page said players could unlock the Appa Glider by completing at least four quests in each of six Chakra phases. The event’s quest-and-reward structure explains the “six books” phrasing in the earlier leak, but the official event page describes the progression in terms of Chakra phases.

Which Avatar characters appeared in Fortnite
The crossover extended beyond the pass. Korra was in the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass; Aang was tied to the Elements Pass; and Katara, Zuko and Toph entered the Item Shop before the event ended. Epic’s event page and the contemporaneous April 8 GameSpot report document those roles. GameSpot’s character announcement coverage reported the planned shop arrivals and Korra’s Battle Pass presence.
Does the leak mean the rewards are available now?
No conclusion about current availability follows from the 2024 event page. Epic said at the time that the pass reward tracks and Appa Glider were not exclusive to the event and might become purchasable in the Fortnite Shop later. That was a possibility, not confirmation of a later sale, current shop listing or scheduled event rerun. The event itself ended on May 3, 2024.
