Former X-Men ’97 showrunner and lead writer Beau DeMayo denied allegations of misconduct in a video posted to OnlyFans on September 4, 2024, and called online rumors about him a “smear campaign.” Marvel has said it terminated him in March 2024 after an internal investigation. The competing accounts have not been independently resolved in the cited reporting.
What Beau DeMayo said in the video
Entertainment Weekly reported that DeMayo’s video was nearly 30 minutes long and addressed claims of misconduct connected to his firing by Marvel Studios. DeMayo said, “These allegations of egregious misconduct are false.” He also described online rumors as “a smear campaign designed to discredit my credibility.” Entertainment Weekly reported the video and reproduced those statements.

DeMayo also alleged that Marvel had poor workplace conditions and said concerns he raised about bullying and identity-based targeting were dismissed. These are DeMayo’s claims; the cited coverage does not independently establish them.
What Marvel said about his termination
Marvel’s public explanation, quoted by TheWrap, was that “Mr. DeMayo was terminated in March 2024 following an internal investigation.” Marvel said it severed ties with him because of the investigation’s findings. That describes the company’s account, not a finding independently verified by the cited reports. TheWrap reported Marvel’s statement.

Entertainment Weekly said Marvel did not respond to its request for comment on DeMayo’s video. That is specific to that outlet’s request and does not establish whether Marvel commented to other outlets or at a later time.
