What happened to his titles, and when?
The sighting followed several distinct steps, rather than a single change announced on one date:
- October 17, 2025: Andrew announced that he would stop using his royal titles and honours. Report on Andrew’s announcement.
- October 30, 2025: Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had begun the formal process to remove Andrew’s styles, titles and honours. Palace announcement and timeline.
- November 3, 2025: The change was made official by Letters Patent, according to the report. Palace announcement and timeline.
- November 17, 2025: The Daily Mail published the photograph of Andrew riding at Windsor Castle, as reported by People. People’s report, syndicated by Yahoo News.
Andrew’s October 17 announcement and the Palace’s later formal process were separate developments. The title changes discussed in this timeline should also not be confused with his loss of military titles and patronages in January 2022. Report on Andrew’s announcement.

Was he still living at Royal Lodge?
The November 2025 report said Andrew had not yet left Royal Lodge and was expected to relocate to the Sandringham estate. That was an expectation at the time of publication, not confirmation that he later moved; it does not establish his current residence. Residence details in the November 2025 report.
