What evidence did jurors hear?
Prosecutors played an audio file recovered from Herrmann’s phone. The Associated Press reported that it captured the altercation and pleas for help. It was unclear whether Herrmann meant to record the audio or whether an app had been triggered inadvertently; the recording should not be described as a deliberate recording of the killing.
The jury’s first-degree murder verdict was the legal outcome of the trial. The available reporting does not establish further details about the jury’s deliberations or its assessment of individual pieces of evidence.
