If YouTube is rejecting a 24/7 recorded class stream from OBS, the exact cause depends on the notice in YouTube Studio or Live Control Room. Check account eligibility and policy status first, then review copyright, OBS stream settings and upload stability. The available YouTube guidance does not establish a special India-only ban on OBS or prerecorded classes; it also cannot identify the cause for a particular channel without its notice or stream log.
Start with the exact rejection notice
Before changing OBS settings, open YouTube Studio or Live Control Room and record the complete notice, when it appeared, which stream it concerns, and any status or appeal information shown. This separates an account-level live restriction from a copyright interruption, a mismatched stream configuration or a delivery problem. An encoder can report that it is sending video without YouTube accepting or continuing the broadcast.
YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Restrictions can follow Community Guidelines or copyright issues. If YouTube says live access is restricted, changing resolution, bitrate or hardware will not restore that access. Follow the status and appeal process shown for the channel; do not try to evade an active restriction by streaming from another channel, which YouTube prohibits.
Check whether the class recording has rights issues
A prerecorded lesson can still trigger live copyright enforcement. Review the entire recording, including intro and background music, film or television excerpts, slides containing third-party media, and embedded guest lectures. Having permission to use something does not necessarily prevent an automated interruption: YouTube says a rights holder may need to allowlist the channel through Content ID for a licensed stream not to be interrupted.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches and may interrupt or terminate a stream if matched material continues. Check the channel’s copyright and live-stream notices, identify the segment that may have matched, and obtain the rights needed for the intended use. YouTube’s livestream terms also require the provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation and satisfy applicable territory requirements. If you cannot establish rights to a clip or soundtrack, remove or replace it before testing again.
Make sure OBS is connected to the intended YouTube stream
In Live Control Room, check which stream or event is selected and the associated stream URL and key. Then compare them with the destination configured in OBS. A stream key acts like a password: keep it private, and reset it if it has been exposed. After a reset, replace the old key in OBS before reconnecting.

- Open YouTube Live Control Room and select the stream you intend to broadcast.
- Check the stream URL and key in the stream settings. Confirm that the key has not been changed or replaced since OBS was configured.
- Check OBS’s streaming destination and enter the matching YouTube URL and current key. Avoid sharing screenshots or logs that reveal the key.
- Review the stream settings in YouTube and the encoder output in OBS for incompatible or unintended values. Use YouTube’s stream-settings guidance as the reference for the selected stream.
- Start a short test and check whether Live Control Room receives the signal and displays a preview. If it does not, revisit the selected event, URL and key before changing unrelated settings.
Rule out upload and connection problems
If the stream connects but buffers, drops or becomes unstable, test the actual internet connection OBS will use. YouTube recommends keeping total stream bitrate at least 20% below available upload bandwidth. Include audio and video in the total, account for other devices and traffic on the same connection, and do not assume a speed test from another network represents the streaming connection.
- Insufficient headroom: reduce the total output bitrate or use a connection with more available upload capacity.
- Shared or fluctuating connection: pause competing uploads and downloads, then test again while watching Live Control Room’s preview and stream health.
- Disruption during the test: YouTube warns that connectivity interruptions can break a stream. Check the connection at the time the failure occurs rather than treating an encoder connection message as proof of stable delivery.
See YouTube’s streaming tips for its connection and setup guidance. If the upload connection is the issue, correcting it may help delivery, but it will not resolve an account restriction or rights match.

Test the complete event before restoring a 24/7 schedule
YouTube recommends setting up the encoder in advance, checking the Live Control Room preview, confirming the event can be viewed on the channel or watch page and on mobile, and monitoring audio and video. Use a short private or unlisted test when appropriate. A test can confirm that the selected stream, encoder and connection work together; it does not prove that every segment of a long recording is rights-cleared or that a later account action will not occur.
Plan for the archive separately
A 24/7 broadcast is not a dependable substitute for a class archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours may be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable for streams beyond 12 hours. Keep an independent recording of the class and plan a separate archive or schedule if viewers need to replay lessons.
