How Finding Mr. Christmas leads to a Hallmark movie
Hosted by Jonathan Bennett, with Melissa Peterman serving as lead judge, Finding Mr. Christmas puts aspiring actors through a series of festive performance and physical challenges. Hallmark describes the format as a competition among ten men living together while competing for a role in an upcoming holiday movie.
Season two tested contestants in areas directly connected to Hallmark-style storytelling, including acting, emotional scenes and romantic scenes. Guest judges across the season included Janel Parrish, Alison Sweeney, Ashley Williams, Hunter King, Sharon Lawrence and Erin Krakow. The challenges were designed to assess more than appearance: contestants also had to demonstrate camera presence, emotional control, chemistry and the ability to perform within a light holiday-romance tone.

Geoghan’s prize was promoted as a role in a Countdown to Christmas movie. Once the completed film’s casting and story became clear, however, his part was Reid rather than the male romantic lead. That distinction matters: calling Geoghan the movie’s “new leading man” would overstate the role supported by the available cast information.
Why the role is significant for Geoghan
Winning the competition gave Geoghan a professional introduction to Hallmark’s holiday-movie audience and a credited part in a nationally promoted seasonal release. His appearance also connects the reality competition directly to the movie franchise it promised: viewers can watch the season-two winner transition from competition challenges to a scripted Hallmark production.
His role as Reid places him in the family story surrounding Liv and Daniel. It is a supporting part, but it gives the season’s winner a presence in the movie without changing the film’s established romantic focus on King and Roderick.
