Is Fiela se kind prescribed for Grade 12 in 2026?
The publisher labels its school drama and study guide for Grade 12 EAT. That label alone does not establish that every learner must study it in the 2026 examination cycle. What is the drama about?
The school-text listing describes a child-identity conflict that begins when three-year-old Lukas, the son of Elias and Barta van Rooyen, goes missing in the Knysna forest. In the Long Kloof, Fiela Komoetie takes in a foundling and names him Benjamin. Nine years later, census officials see a blue-eyed white child in a Coloured family and raise the possibility that Benjamin is the missing Lukas. This is a premise, not a substitute for reading the drama or a scene-by-scene study.
