Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For a single pre-recorded video, FFmpeg is a flexible, low-cost route if you can run and monitor the encoder. For a 24/7 loop that should keep going without a computer or server you administer, a managed cloud service may be a better fit. Neither option is universally cheaper or more reliable: compare the costs and recovery, monitoring, and scheduling features for your particular stream.
Choose based on what you want to manage
| Option | Best fit | What you manage |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | A YouTube channel running uploaded videos continuously from the cloud. | Upload the video or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and start the stream. StreamNeo handles cloud playback and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. |
| FFmpeg on your computer or server | A technically comfortable creator who wants to control the media pipeline and already has a machine available. | Encoding settings, network availability, process restarts, stream-key security, and audio/video monitoring. |
| FFmpeg on a cloud VM or VPS | Someone who wants the FFmpeg process away from a personal computer and is prepared to administer a server. | Everything involved in running FFmpeg, plus server security, compute and possible network or storage costs, monitoring, and restart behavior. |
| Another managed prerecorded-to-live service | A creator seeking managed continuous or scheduled prerecorded streams. | Confirm current pricing, YouTube connection method, stream-duration limits, monitoring, recovery, and terms. YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming, but directory inclusion does not establish suitability or comparative quality. |
| AWS Elemental MediaLive | A team already operating a broader cloud video workflow or needing managed live-video processing. | Technical configuration and variable cloud costs. AWS says input pricing depends on codec, bitrate, and resolution; its cited input documentation says MediaLive does not support RTMPS inputs. Check whether the service fits the workflow before choosing it for a simple file. |
Compare operator time and skills, stream hours and continuity needs, source format and output quality, monitoring and recovery, total cost for the workload, and how the broadcast will be scheduled and controlled in YouTube Studio. No provider or VM size is established as the best choice for this job. AWS pricing details are at AWS Elemental MediaLive pricing.
How FFmpeg sends a video to YouTube Live
FFmpeg is an encoder workflow, not a turnkey cloud service. Its documentation describes -re for reading input at its native frame rate to simulate a live input, -stream_loop for repeating input, and support for RTMP-family protocols. These capabilities make file-to-live streaming possible, but the right command depends on the installed FFmpeg build, media codecs, output configuration, and the current ingest endpoint. No universal command can be assumed to work for every file and installation. See the FFmpeg documentation and FFmpeg protocol documentation.
- Check your channel’s live-stream eligibility. Enable live streaming and create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours. Its general eligibility guidance requires a verified channel without live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days; check the current YouTube live-stream tips and account status.
- Create the event and copy its current connection details. In Live Control Room, create or schedule an encoder stream and copy the stream URL and key shown for it. The key is a credential, like a password: do not publish it or share it broadly. Reset it in Live Control Room if compromised. Follow YouTube’s encoder workflow and stream settings guidance.
- Prefer the RTMPS endpoint supplied by YouTube. YouTube recommends encrypted RTMPS ingest. Copy the RTMPS URL from Live Control Room rather than using an endpoint copied from an old tutorial or script. YouTube’s instructions describe exposing and copying it with the lock icon. Check that your FFmpeg build supports the protocol and endpoint; see YouTube’s RTMPS instructions.
- Check the media and encoder settings before going live. Confirm the installed FFmpeg build supports the selected protocol, and inspect the source’s codecs, frame rate, resolution, and audio. Match output settings to YouTube’s current recommendations and the source; do not assume one command or bitrate suits every file. YouTube’s guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1; up to 60 fps; CBR; a recommended two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds; and AAC or MP3 audio. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings for the applicable resolution and bitrate guidance.
- Configure FFmpeg to pace and, if needed, loop the file. Use the documented real-time input pacing and input-looping options as appropriate to the source. Build the output around the current YouTube endpoint and key, and verify that the file’s codecs and the protocol/container combination are accepted. The precise command is installation- and media-dependent; test the workflow before relying on it for a continuous broadcast.
- Start the encoder, then verify the broadcast in Live Control Room. For a scheduled event, check the preview and start the event from Live Control Room when appropriate. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can opt into a notification. Confirm the preview and watch page, and check that the audio and video are healthy.
- Plan for supervision and recovery. YouTube recommends preparing encoder streams in advance, checking the preview, monitoring audio and video, and verifying archive growth and watch-page access. Those checks do not make an unattended FFmpeg process self-recovering: arrange your own process supervision, restart handling, and network-failure monitoring.
Settings, archives, and content safeguards
Use the right stream settings
YouTube’s encoder guidance is the starting point, not a reason to force every source into a higher resolution or frame rate. Match the output to the source and confirm the recommended bitrate for the chosen resolution on YouTube’s current settings page. Keep the recommended two-second keyframe interval, no more than four seconds, and use CBR as specified in that guidance. The required settings can vary with resolution, bitrate, protocol, and source.

Beats both Intel chips hugely in multi-core, making heavy multitasking, coding, data work smooth at just 15W TDP. High-end power in a cool, efficient box.
- 【AMD Radeon Graphics】– Triple 4K Vision & Fluidity,The integrated Radeon Graphics (based on the modern Vega architecture with 6 CUs) is a visual beast, outclassing the iGPU offerings from both AMD's prior generation and Intel. The Intel UHD Graphics (i3-10110U/N95) struggles with single-channel memory and low execution units, crippling its gaming performance and barely handling basic 4K video without stuttering. While the older Radeon Vega 5 (4300U) was decent, our 7330U's Radeon Graphics (6 CUs) pushes the boundaries, delivering higher graphics clock speeds (up to 1.8GHz) and significantly better rendering capabilities. It can drive triple 4K@60Hz displays with zero lag, edit photos/videos.

- 【USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C: 10Gbps & Versatile Connectivity】The USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C port on the KAMRUI P2 small pc supports 10Gbps data transfer speeds and can also output DisplayPort 1.4 video. Together with Gigabit LAN, Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth, you get a fast, flexible, and productive connected environment – wired or wireless.
Protect the key and verify the event state
- Keep the stream key private; reset it if it is exposed.
- Use the current event’s ingest details, not an old URL saved in a script.
- Check the Live Control Room preview before starting a scheduled event.
- Verify watch-page access and audio/video during the broadcast.
Do not assume a long stream will be archived
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not treat that as a guarantee for longer broadcasts. If an archive matters, verify current platform behavior and plan how to segment the stream.
Confirm rights and platform rules for the recording
Streaming a file as live does not remove the need to have the rights to its video, music, and other material or to comply with YouTube’s applicable policies. Check the content and permissions before scheduling a broadcast. A continuous loop should not be treated as proof that the underlying material is authorized or that the channel meets YouTube’s monetization requirements.

Where each approach can fail
| Symptom or risk | Likely issue | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| FFmpeg cannot connect | Wrong or outdated ingest URL, incorrect stream key, or a protocol the installed build does not support. | Copy the URL and key again from the current Live Control Room event, keep the key private, and verify FFmpeg protocol support. Prefer YouTube’s current RTMPS endpoint. |
| SSL or RTMPS connection error | The protocol or server configuration may not be RTMPS, or the connection may be using an incompatible port. | Check that both protocol and server are RTMPS. YouTube suggests port 443 for certain SSL errors; follow its RTMPS troubleshooting guidance. |
| The stream is rejected or the output is unsuitable | Codec, frame rate, keyframe interval, bitrate, or audio settings may not match YouTube’s guidance or the source. | Inspect the source and FFmpeg output settings, then compare them with YouTube’s current encoder recommendations. |
| The stream stops after an interruption | A local process, computer, server, or network failure may have ended the encoder feed. | With self-managed FFmpeg, arrange process supervision, restart behavior, and monitoring; FFmpeg capability alone is not an uptime guarantee. If you use a managed service, confirm its recovery behavior and limits before relying on it. |
| Video or audio looks wrong in the preview | Source media or encoding settings may be unsuitable, or the encoder may be producing an unexpected output. | Check the Live Control Room preview and verify source codecs, output resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and audio before starting the event. |
| No archive appears for a long broadcast | The broadcast may exceed the duration for which YouTube’s cited guidance says automatic archiving applies. | For streams longer than 12 hours, do not assume an archive will be created; verify current YouTube behavior and segment the broadcast if needed. |
Cost: compare the actual workload
FFmpeg itself is a software workflow, but a long-running stream still uses a computer or paid cloud compute and requires someone to maintain it. A VPS can add compute, network, or storage charges. A managed service charges according to its own current plan and limits. AWS says MediaLive input pricing varies by codec, bitrate, and resolution. The available information does not establish a fair, universal price comparison among these routes, so calculate against your expected stream hours, source settings, recurrence, and need for monitoring or recovery.
