Mount Lawley’s Fez Cafe announced it was closing for the final time, PerthNow reported on 4 April 2025. The report named owners Fina and Wiena, but did not give the cafe’s exact last day of in-person trading or reveal whether they planned another food venture.
What happened to Fez Cafe?
Fez Cafe shared its closure news on social media on 3 April 2025, according to PerthNow’s report published the following day. Owners Fina and Wiena thanked their team, customers and friends, and celebrated the community that had formed around the cafe.
“Dear All, as we close for the final time, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible community that’s made our cafe so special,” the owners wrote in their closing message, as reproduced by PerthNow.
Where was the cafe, and when did it last serve customers?
Fez Cafe was at 83 Walcott Street in Mount Lawley. Its Uber Eats listing was marked closed on the delivery platform as of 28 April 2025. That platform status does not establish the exact date the cafe stopped serving customers in person; the closure report does not specify a final trading date.

Who owned Fez Cafe?
PerthNow identified the owners as Fina and Wiena, describing them as mothers and friends of a decade who ran the cafe together. Their children also worked there. The report gives only their first names and does not state their formal roles beyond identifying them as owners.
The cafe was described as a welcoming place with indoor and outdoor dining, and the owners’ farewell singled out the staff, customers and friends who supported it. The report did not say whether Fina and Wiena intended to open another food business.
What food did Fez Cafe serve?
The descriptions of Fez Cafe’s menu differ by date, so they should not be treated as evidence of one unchanged offering. PerthNow’s 2025 closure story characterized the food as hearty Australian and Indonesian cuisine. The Uber Eats listing preserved menu examples including smashed avocado and beef rendang rice.
An earlier Perth Voice feature published on 29 July 2021 described a brunch menu with a Moroccan influence, including shakshuka, chilli scrambled eggs and Moroccan lamb salad. That earlier account does not establish what the cafe served at closure or when its menu identity may have changed.

What does the company record show?
A record for FEZTIVE PTY LTD lists FEZ CAFE RESTAURANT as a business name from 26 January 2023. It records the company’s ABN status as cancelled from 21 April 2026. This is company-register information, not the cafe’s last trading date; the record does not establish when the venue ceased operating.
