He turned Looking Glass’s 1972 song “Brandy” into a personal parody, surprising guests after beginning with a conventional toast. It was a song, not the separate viral father-of-the-groom dance to “Badtameez Dil” reported in 2023.
What did Bruce Miller sing at his son’s wedding?
At the California reception, Bruce Miller performed a personalized version of “Brandy” as a toast to Jake and Brandi Miller. The bride’s name made the song an obvious fit. According to InspireMore’s July 6, 2024 report, the couple had agreed that Bruce could prepare a musical toast.
Bruce first delivered a regular toast, then shifted into the song, turning a familiar wedding speech into a surprise performance. He worked with one of Jake’s former producers to create an MP3 he could use to practice. Bruce told InspireMore, “I wanted to do it right.”
Why did the performance resonate with the family?
Music was already part of the relationship between father and son. Jake told InspireMore, “The reason I got into music was because of my dad,” adding that Bruce played Bruce Springsteen and the Eagles at home and taught him drums when he was eight. Those family details gave the performance a personal history beyond the name-based song choice.

Is this the same clip as the “Badtameez Dil” wedding dance?
No. The Bruce Miller clip is a sung “Brandy” parody delivered as a toast in 2024. India Today covered a different father-of-the-groom viral clip in January 2023: a man dancing to “Badtameez Dil.” Its report also said that separate clip had more than one million views at the time. That figure does not refer to Bruce Miller’s performance. Read India Today’s report on the dance.

It combines a song chosen for the bride’s name with a performance shaped by the father-son relationship. Bruce prepared with a producer-made practice recording, but the format remained a toast: a personal message first, followed by an unexpected musical turn. The available coverage documents one family’s celebration rather than establishing a broader trend about wedding performances.
