Do you need to play the games first?
No. The television series is based on the Fallout video game franchise, but the games are optional; viewers can follow the show without playing them. Season 2’s New Vegas setting may prompt fans to explore the games, but check the specific title, platform, format and local availability before choosing one. Amazon describes the show’s connection to the franchise in its lineup announcement.
