Spoilers for the episode’s confirmed story setup: “A Card in the Hand” connects Wraith to Fairy Tail’s past, puts Wendy in a struggle with Nebaru, and has Lucy and Cana use Cana’s Magic Cards to gather other guild members. Available episode listings confirm those story threads, but not their exact scene order, Wendy’s outcome, or the closing cliffhanger.
What happens in “A Card in the Hand”?
Episode 12 follows three linked threads. Wraith is revealed as a former Fairy Tail wizard, with Makarov and Wraith described as guild family. Wendy is struggling against Nebaru. Meanwhile, Lucy begins collecting other Fairy Tail members with help from Cana and her Magic Cards. These plot points come from the episode descriptions published by Crunchyroll and Apple TV.

The descriptions establish the episode’s central developments, not a scene-by-scene sequence. They do not say how Wendy’s confrontation ends, what happens immediately before or after Lucy’s plan, or what the final scene shows. Those details should not be treated as confirmed based on the platform summaries alone.
How Wraith, Wendy, and Lucy’s stories fit together
Wraith’s connection to Fairy Tail
Wraith’s former membership makes his connection to Makarov a matter of guild history as well as the present conflict: the listings characterize the two as family. The summaries do not provide further details about Wraith’s past or explain how this relationship shapes the episode’s events.

Wendy’s fight with Nebaru
Wendy’s struggle against Nebaru is one of the episode’s major threads. The available descriptions do not establish the result, so it is not possible to confirm whether she wins, loses, or how the confrontation resolves.
Lucy and Cana’s Magic Cards
Lucy starts gathering the other Fairy Tail members, with Cana using her Magic Cards to help. The listing confirms that goal and the cards’ role, but does not detail the individual members contacted or the plan’s outcome.
Where episode 12 sits in the series
Prime Video lists “A Card in the Hand” after “Wraith, the Spirit Dragon” and before “Scarlet Showdown.” Its descriptions for those neighboring episodes provide broad context: the preceding episode involves Natsu fighting Wraith and Wraith finding a body to possess; the following one describes the Touka revelation and Laxus fighting Erza. That placement helps orient the episode, but does not fill in its unconfirmed scene details. See the Prime Video episode listing.
