What is Selena Gomez’s beauty brand called?
It is Rare Beauty, founded by Selena Gomez. The brand presents makeup as a way to express yourself rather than conceal what makes you distinctive. On its About page, Rare Beauty says it aims to challenge unrealistic standards of perfection and help people feel less alone. Those are the company’s stated values, not independent evidence of their effects.

When did Rare Beauty launch?
Rare Beauty launched its first product line on September 3, 2020, in the United States, Canada and Mexico, exclusively at Sephora. The August 31, 2020 launch announcement described complexion products—including foundation and concealer in 48 shades each—along with lip, cheek and eye makeup and tools.

What is Rare Beauty known for?
Soft Pinch Liquid Blush
Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a flagship product and a prominent example of the brand’s commercial profile. Rare Beauty’s homepage calls it a bestseller and says one sells every four seconds; that pace is the brand’s claim, not an independently verified sales measure.
At the time its product page was accessed, Rare Beauty listed the blush at $25, in 16 shades and matte or dewy finishes. The brand describes its formula as lightweight and buildable, says one dot provides strong color and claims up to 12 hours of wear. These are product-page claims, and price and assortment can change. The page also presents results from a consumer study of 32 people; those results should be understood in that limited, brand-reported context.

A wider beauty assortment
Rare Beauty’s official catalog extends beyond makeup to fragrance, face, lip, eye, body and tools. One fragrance example is Rare Eau de Parfum: its page listed a 50 mL bottle at $78 and described notes including caramel, pistachio, vanilla, ginger and sandalwood. These are live product details and may change.
Is Rare Beauty successful?
There is substantial reported evidence of commercial success, but it should be read with its dates and attribution. In a May 2024 profile, TIME reported that Rare Beauty’s sales grew 100% from 2021 to 2022 and 200% the following year. It put sales at $400 million for the 12 months ending in May 2024, called the brand a top seller at Sephora based on company information, and said the company reported availability in 36 countries. TIME also reported that Soft Pinch Liquid Blush generated $70 million in sales in 2023.

These figures are press-reported sales and company-supplied details, not audited accounts. They establish neither profit nor a current 2026 revenue figure. The careful conclusion is that Rare Beauty had become a major commercial player by the period described in TIME’s 2024 reporting—not that its latest financial performance is publicly established here.

Rare Beauty says one percent of its annual sales supports the Rare Impact Fund, alongside funds raised from partners. The brand describes the fund as working to expand mental-health services in underserved communities and connecting its work to mental health and self-acceptance. For 2023, Rare Beauty’s Social Impact Report page reported $7 million raised and one million young people reached. It also listed five continents impacted, 1,300 schools or school districts, more than 224,000 educators, 560,000 stakeholders and 3,000 mental-health resources. These are historical figures reported by the brand for 2023; they should not be treated as independently audited outcomes or as current totals.

What to keep in mind when evaluating the brand
- Separate purpose from proof: Rare Beauty’s commitments to self-acceptance and mental well-being describe its positioning; they do not by themselves establish social or mental-health outcomes.
- Read sales figures by period: the $400 million figure covers the 12 months ending in May 2024, while the blush figure covers 2023. Neither is a current 2026 financial disclosure.
