This is the archived U.S. Max schedule for July 2025. The month’s key film arrivals were Sinners and On Becoming a Guinea Fowl on July 4, followed by Opus on July 11, I Love You Forever on July 18 and Death of a Unicorn on July 25. Most of the month’s movie additions were older catalog titles, not new theatrical releases.
The schedule was promoted as 78 new movies, but the published date-by-date movie list appears to contain 76 entries, depending on how documentaries and alternate cuts are counted. The lists below keep movies separate from TV programming and specials. Dates reflect the announced U.S. lineup; availability in other countries, or in Max’s current catalog, may differ.
Five July 2025 movie premieres to prioritize
These are the month’s most prominent announced film additions. The dates refer to the U.S. Max schedule, rather than a promise of availability in every territory.
- Sinners — July 4. Ryan Coogler’s supernatural horror film stars Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers and is set in 1930s Mississippi. It was the month’s headline release. Official Sinners site.
- On Becoming a Guinea Fowl — July 4. This A24 film joined the lineup on the same date as Sinners.
- Opus — July 11. Another A24 title, scheduled for the second Friday of the month.
- I Love You Forever — July 18. Warner Bros. Discovery listed the feature among the month’s film additions.
- Death of a Unicorn — July 25. Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega star in this dark comedy-horror story about a father and daughter who hit a unicorn with their car, setting off a pursuit by the creature’s parents.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s U.S. July announcement gives the dates for these five films; TV Guide’s July schedule also lists Death of a Unicorn for July 25.

How to choose from the July lineup
- For the month’s leading new release: Start with Sinners.
- For comic horror: Pick Death of a Unicorn.
- For A24 films: The schedule puts On Becoming a Guinea Fowl on July 4 and Opus on July 11.
- For familiar catalog viewing: The July 1 batch includes The Big Lebowski, Napoleon Dynamite, Get Out, Carol, Dances With Wolves and The Meg.
- For a franchise run: July 1 brought multiple Mortal Kombat films, alongside horror titles including Annabelle, Insidious and The Amityville Horror.
- For documentaries and classic cinema: Look to Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me, Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, Cunningham, and older films such as One Way Passage and The Public Enemy.
- For family viewing: Shaun the Sheep Movie is among the July 1 films. Check the rating and content of any title before choosing it for children; the same schedule also includes adult horror and other mature films.
What the historical schedule does—and does not—tell you
Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement is for the U.S. lineup. It does not establish that the same films arrived on the same dates in every country, or that they remain on Max now. Streaming catalogs change as licensing windows begin and end, so this archive is a record of the July 2025 schedule, not a live availability checker.

- Breathtaking picture quality: Stunningly sharp 4K picture brings out rich detail in your entertainment with four times the resolution of HD. Watch as colors pop off your screen and enjoy lifelike clarity with Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
- Seamless streaming for any room: With Roku Streaming Stick 4K, watch your favorite entertainment on any TV in the house, even in rooms farther from your router thanks to the long-range Wi-Fi receiver.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, so you can switch from streaming to gaming with ease. Plus, it’s designed to stay hidden behind your TV, keeping wires neatly out of sight
The movie total also depends on counting choices. TechRadar’s headline said 78, while its displayed schedule appears to list 76 film entries; documentaries and an extended cut are among the titles that can affect how a count is made. The published lists do not resolve the difference, so 78 should be treated as the headline’s claim rather than a verified count.
For the dated lists, see TechRadar’s July 2025 schedule and TV Guide’s schedule; the studio’s Warner Bros. Discovery announcement confirms the featured film dates.
