This ranking covers wrestlers and teams who held one of four Raw-associated championships at any point in 2024: the World Heavyweight Championship, Women’s World Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the Raw-origin tag title, renamed the WWE World Tag Team Championship in April. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship is shared across brands, so it is not treated as a Raw-exclusive title here. WWE does not publish a ranking of its champions; the order below is an editorial judgment based on defenses, opponents and stakes, story impact, and influence on Raw.
2024 Raw championship timeline
The timeline below shows the major title changes in the four lineages in scope. WWE’s official histories are the authority for reign dates and names; the linked Raw recaps provide context for key results.
World Heavyweight Championship
- Seth Rollins held the championship into WrestleMania XL. Drew McIntyre beat him there, but Damian Priest cashed in Money in the Bank later that night and took the title. WWE’s title history records the reign sequence.
- Priest’s reign ended when Gunther defeated him at SummerSlam on Aug. 3. WWE’s official history lists the title changes and dates.
Women’s World Championship
- Rhea Ripley relinquished the championship in April. Becky Lynch won the vacant title in a Raw Battle Royal on April 22. WWE’s Raw recap covers the match, and the title history records the reigns.
- Liv Morgan held the championship later in 2024. WWE’s history page provides the reign endpoints: Women’s World Championship title history.
Intercontinental Championship
- Gunther’s 666-day reign ended when Sami Zayn beat him at WrestleMania XL on April 6. Sami later lost the championship to Bron Breakker on Aug. 3. WWE’s title history records the reigns.
- Jey Uso defeated Breakker on Raw on Sept. 23; Breakker regained the championship on Oct. 21. The September result is also documented in WWE’s Raw recap.
World Tag Team Championship
- On April 15, WWE renamed Raw’s tag championship the WWE World Tag Team Championship and awarded the renamed belts to Awesome Truth. WWE’s April 15 Raw recap explains the change: Raw results.
- Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh defeated Awesome Truth on Raw on June 24. WWE’s recap reports the change. WWE’s official title history is the place to check the complete sequence of reigns through year-end: World Tag Team Championship title history.
Every in-scope 2024 champion, ranked
The ranking weighs match quality and consistency, opponent strength and stakes, memorable story turns, and each reign’s effect on weekly Raw. It is not an official WWE order. Tag teams are ranked as teams; their reign lengths are not directly comparable with singles reigns.
-
Gunther
Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship reign ended at WrestleMania XL after 666 days, but the length is only part of the case for ranking him first. His title run established the belt as a serious weekly prize, and Sami Zayn’s victory had unusually high stakes because it ended one of the defining reigns of the preceding period. Gunther also became World Heavyweight Champion later in 2024 by defeating Damian Priest at SummerSlam. He combined sustained title relevance with a major change in the main-event picture.

-
Sami Zayn
Zayn’s WrestleMania XL win over Gunther was the year’s clearest Intercontinental Championship turning point: it ended a long reign and delivered a major payoff to Zayn’s pursuit. His reign was shorter than Gunther’s, ending to Bron Breakker on Aug. 3, but its WrestleMania stakes and emotional significance make it one of the year’s most consequential title runs.
-
Damian Priest
Priest’s cash-in at WrestleMania XL made an already dramatic World Heavyweight Championship match more consequential: Drew McIntyre had just beaten Rollins, only for Priest to leave with the title. Priest then held the championship until Gunther defeated him at SummerSlam. That arc gave Raw a prominent champion and a clear transition into Gunther’s next chapter.

-
Rhea Ripley
Ripley’s title reign ended when she relinquished the Women’s World Championship in April, rather than through a title defeat. The abrupt vacancy changed the division’s direction and led to Becky Lynch’s Battle Royal win. The available 2024 milestones make Ripley’s role in shaping the championship story more compelling than a simple count of matches or days held.
-
Becky Lynch
Lynch won the vacant Women’s World Championship in the April 22 Raw Battle Royal, stepping into a title picture reshaped by Ripley’s relinquishment. Her reign was a major bridge in the division’s 2024 story, though the year’s most consequential women’s title development was the change in direction that began with Ripley’s departure and continued with Liv Morgan later holding the belt.

-
Liv Morgan
Morgan held the Women’s World Championship later in 2024, making her part of the year’s changing title picture. On the milestones established here, her reign is best understood as a significant continuation of the division’s shift rather than a run defined by a single title change comparable to the WrestleMania and SummerSlam turns in the men’s championships.
-
Bron Breakker
Breakker won the Intercontinental Championship from Sami Zayn on Aug. 3, then lost it to Jey Uso on Raw on Sept. 23 before regaining it on Oct. 21. The quick succession of changes made the title picture unpredictable and gave Breakker two important championship moments, though his 2024 story was less sustained than the top-ranked reigns.

Jey Uso
Uso’s Sept. 23 Raw victory over Breakker gave him the Intercontinental Championship and a notable singles milestone. His reign ended when Breakker won it back on Oct. 21, so the run’s strongest distinction is the importance of the win itself rather than a lengthy stretch of defenses.
-
Awesome Truth
As the team awarded the newly renamed WWE World Tag Team Championship on April 15, Awesome Truth were central to making the Raw tag-title rebrand visible on television. They lost the belts to Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh on June 24. Their place in the ranking reflects that transition and their role in the title’s identity, not a direct comparison between their reign length and a singles champion’s.

Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh
Bálor and McDonagh won the WWE World Tag Team Championship from Awesome Truth on June 24, continuing the Raw tag lineage under its new name. The available milestones establish their title win, but do not provide enough detail to rank their full year-end reign on the same terms as the better-documented singles title arcs.
-
Drew McIntyre
McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship win over Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL was a major moment, but his reign lasted only until Priest’s same-night cash-in. The immediate reversal is inseparable from the win: McIntyre became champion, then left without the title before the night ended.
-
Seth Rollins
Rollins held the World Heavyweight Championship into WrestleMania XL and lost it to McIntyre. The year’s central story beat was the title change at WrestleMania and Priest’s subsequent cash-in, leaving Rollins’ 2024 championship contribution more as the starting point for that sequence than as a separate defining reign.
What the ranking leaves out
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship is not included because it is shared across brands rather than a Raw-exclusive lineage. WWE’s 2024 title-change playlist frames the year around reigns ending, new champions and completed stories, culminating with the Dec. 16 Raw episode: WWE’s 2024 title-change playlist.
