Spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Post-release coverage reports six villains or villain groups in the film: Scorpion, Tombstone, Ramrod, Tarantula, Boomerang, and the Hand. Scorpion has a more substantial role in the reviewed accounts, while several others appear briefly. Separately, coverage identifies Sadie Sink’s character as a major antagonist tied to the hidden threat described in Sony’s official synopsis.
What villains are in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
The six reported appearances are listed below. The roster combines individual characters with one organization, and it does not mean each has equal screen time or importance.
| Villain or group | What post-release coverage reports | Type and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Scorpion | Appears with more involvement than a fleeting cameo, according to one reviewed account. | Individual character; identified by post-release reporting. |
| Tombstone | Appears among the film’s villains. | Individual character; identified by post-release reporting. The evidence does not establish him as the principal antagonist. |
| Ramrod | Appears briefly. | Individual character; identified by post-release reporting. |
| Tarantula | Appears briefly. | Individual character; identified by post-release reporting. |
| Boomerang | Appears briefly. | Individual character; identified by post-release reporting. |
| The Hand | The organization appears, including in action against Spider-Man. | Group, not a single villain; identified by post-release reporting. |
The roster is supported by post-release coverage from Nerdist and corroborated by Ars Technica and Third Coast Review. These reports establish appearances and some role-weight distinctions, not a complete inventory of every uncredited or background character.
Is Scorpion in Brand New Day?
Yes, post-release reporting identifies Scorpion as appearing, and one reviewed account describes his involvement as more than a fleeting cameo. Sony’s trailer description lists Michael Mando in the cast but does not name his role, so the cast list alone is not confirmation of Scorpion’s identity. The distinction matters: the character identification comes from post-release coverage, not the studio’s cast listing.

Who is the main villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Sony’s official synopsis sets up an unnamed threat, describing “a powerful villain no one can even see.” It does not name the character. Post-release coverage identifies Sadie Sink’s character as a major antagonist connected to that hidden threat, but the reviewed sources do not establish her character’s full name. It is therefore more precise to call her “Sadie Sink’s character” than to supply an unverified identity.
Sony’s premise also says Peter Parker is fighting crime full time in a world that no longer remembers him, and suggests a change he may not control could help stop the unseen villain. That official setup and the later character identification are separate evidence: the studio synopsis preserves the mystery, while post-release reporting names Sink’s character as a major antagonist.

Sony’s official trailer description lists Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. It is a cast list, not a character-by-character roster, and it does not name Mando’s role. Sony’s trailer description gives a U.S. theatrical date of July 31, 2026. Sony’s film page lists digital retailer availability beginning October 6, 2026; that information does not establish a physical-media release.
