Luffy’s three named Gear 4 versions covered in Crunchyroll News’ guide are Boundman, Tankman, and Snakeman. The guide gives their first cited appearances as manga chapters 784, 842, and 894, respectively, and anime episodes 726, 806, and 870. It is a secondary guide, not an official exhaustive catalog, so these are the principal versions identified here—not a claim that no other Gear 4 variations exist.
What Gear 4 does
Crunchyroll News describes Gear 4 as combining body inflation through injected air, Armament Haki, and increased blood flow associated with Gear 2. The guide’s explanation provides the shared mechanism behind the forms, while their names and appearances distinguish the versions.
For a broader explanation of Luffy’s techniques, see Crunchyroll News’ guide to Luffy’s Gears, published September 23, 2023.

Tankman
Crunchyroll’s guide places Tankman’s cited debut in manga chapter 842 and anime episode 806. It describes the form as briefly seen and used once during the Whole Cake Island story. That description is specific to the guide; it should not be expanded into a claim that no other version or variation exists.
Snakeman
Snakeman’s cited debut is manga chapter 894 and anime episode 870. It is another named Gear 4 version; the cited guide does not establish it as Luffy’s final form or rank it as the strongest.

How to compare the forms
The documented distinctions here are their names, cited first appearances, and the limited use noted for Tankman. The cited material does not provide a reliable official, quantified comparison of their speed, defense, or power. Rankings that declare one universally strongest should therefore be treated as interpretation, not as a fact established by these references.
