The Deathly Hallows epilogue jumps nineteen years beyond the Battle of Hogwarts, showing Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione seeing their children off to school. It gives only a glimpse of their adult lives; later official franchise material fills in careers and family details, while Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continues the story beyond the novel’s ending.
What the Deathly Hallows epilogue shows
The final chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is set nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts. At King’s Cross, Harry and Ginny see their sons James and Albus off to Hogwarts; Ron and Hermione are there with their daughter Rose. Draco Malfoy arrives with his son Scorpius, who is about to begin school alongside Albus. The scene also establishes that Harry and Ginny, and Ron and Hermione, have built families together.

The epilogue is a short family scene, not a complete account of what every character does as an adult. The official franchise’s epilogue retrospective adds details about the scene and its characters, while its character overview supplies further adult-life information.
Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione
Harry Potter
Harry is married to Ginny and has three children: James, Albus, and Lily. Later official franchise material says he becomes head of the Auror Office, the Ministry department responsible for dark-wizard investigations. The epilogue itself shows him at King’s Cross with his family, not in his career.
