Spoilers: The regular My Hero Academia Final Season covers episodes 160–170. Three named characters die in that season: Stain, All For One, and Tomura Shigaraki. Himiko Toga dies in episode 159, before the season begins, while Dabi survives the season’s immediate events.
Who dies in the Final Season?
The official anime site labels episodes 160–170 as the Final Season. Within that boundary, the three named deaths are Stain, All For One, and Tomura Shigaraki. The character-to-chapter and anime mappings below come from a death guide updated August 20, 2026; the official episode pages establish the season boundary and describe the final confrontation, rather than providing a complete death list.
| Character | What happens | Manga reference |
|---|---|---|
| Stain | He helps All Might against All For One, then dies. | Chapter 401 |
| All For One | His physical body is destroyed in the battle with Bakugo. His remaining consciousness ends later, in the final confrontation involving Deku and Shigaraki. | Chapters 410 and 423 |
| Tomura Shigaraki | He regains awareness during the confrontation and then dies. | Chapter 423 |
The distinction matters for All For One: the destruction of his body and the end of his consciousness are separate events, not one death occurring at the same moment.
Does Himiko Toga die in the Final Season?
Yes, Toga dies after sacrificing herself to save Ochaco, but not in the regular Final Season. Her death is mapped to episode 159 and manga chapter 395. The official Final Season episode index starts at episode 160, so Toga belongs to the preceding season’s episode range.

Is Dabi dead by the end of the season?
No. In the official synopsis for episode 168, Deku defeats All For One and speaks with Shigaraki; afterward, the Todoroki family confronts Dabi during recovery. That supports that Dabi survives the immediate final battle, despite being gravely injured.
Dabi’s later death is recorded in chapter 431, outside the regular season’s episode range. The anime’s official site announced chapter 431, “More,” as a separate TV special in December 2025. That later epilogue outcome should not be counted among deaths in episodes 160–170.
Does anyone from Class 1-A die?
No Class 1-A student is identified as dying in the reviewed death guide. Apparent fatal injuries and death rumors should not be treated as confirmed deaths. Likewise, series-wide lists may include earlier casualties such as Midnight, but those deaths are outside the regular Final Season boundary.

“Final” can mean the regular Final Season, the broader final war, or the full series ending. Those scopes produce different lists. To check a claim, look at whether the character dies within episodes 160–170, whether the death is confirmed later rather than during that season, and whether a list includes chapter 431’s separate epilogue special. The official episode index is available at My Hero Academia’s Final Season episode guide; the official episode 168 synopsis is at Episode 168: “Epilogue / Todoroki Family: Hellish Finale”.
