In February 2025, a later report said she had sold her Beverly Hills home and moved to Spain, while planning to continue living between Spain and Mexico. Those reports describe a changing arrangement—not a confirmed full-time address today.
Where Eva Longoria was living, and when
The headline shorthand that Longoria had been living outside the United States “for years” refers to a period of work and split-time living, not a documented permanent move to one country. The locations in the reporting changed over time:
| When | What was reported |
|---|---|
| July 2024 | While filming Land of Women in Catalonia, Longoria said she spent the rest of her time between Los Angeles and Mexico City. The Guardian, July 21, 2024. |
| November 2024 | The Independent reported that Longoria, her husband José Bastón, and their son Santiago were splitting their time between Spain and Mexico City, an arrangement it said had been going on for the last few years. The Independent, November 13, 2024. |
| February 2025 | AS reported that she had sold her Beverly Hills home and moved to Spain, with plans to keep living between Spain and Mexico. AS, February 27, 2025. |
The February 2025 report is the latest location account cited here; it does not establish where Longoria’s primary residence is in October 2026 or whether her family’s arrangements have since changed.
Why she said her California chapter was over
In the interview reported by The Independent, Longoria said California had changed before the pandemic, and that COVID-19 pushed her feelings further. She cited homelessness and taxes among the factors, while clarifying that she did not mean to disparage California. “I had my whole adult life here,” she said, before describing the move as the end of a chapter in her life.

She also recognized that being able to leave was a privilege. In the same report, she said she felt anxiety and sadness for Americans who did not have that option. Her comments describe her own circumstances and perspective; they do not establish a single cause for the family’s decisions.
Did the 2024 election make her leave?
No, according to a clarification attributed to Longoria by E! News in November 2024: the report said she had been working in Europe for almost three years and that the election was not why she moved. That distinction matters because her comments about life in California appeared around the 2024 election. The available account supports describing the European work as predating the election, but not adding further details about her decision-making beyond what was reported.

Longoria’s July 2024 Guardian interview gives an earlier snapshot rather than proof of a later address. She said she filmed Land of Women near Figueres in Catalonia, stayed in the medieval village of Peralada, and spent the rest of her time between Los Angeles and Mexico City. Later coverage connected her time in Spain and Mexico to work including Searching for Spain and Searching for Mexico. Taken together, the reports show work across several locations before the later account of selling her Beverly Hills home.
