When and where did Eurovision 2024 take place?
The first semifinal was held on 7 May 2024, followed by the final on 11 May. Both took place at Malmö Arena in Malmö, Sweden, according to the contest results record.
Who was Silia Kapsis?
Cyprus’s public broadcaster selected Kapsis internally. In its 1 March 2024 report, RTVE described her as Australian-born and as having Greek-Cypriot family roots; that description does not by itself establish further claims about her nationality or residence. Kapsis said after her selection: “Estoy muy contenta de representar a Chipre en Eurovisión 2024. Espero que te guste mucho mi tema tanto como a mi y solo queda conoceros a todos en Suecia” (“I’m very happy to represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024. I hope you like my song as much as I do, and all that’s left is to meet you all in Sweden,” translated from Spanish).
