What Eugene Levy said about Catherine O’Hara
In a statement reported by the Associated Press after O’Hara’s death, Levy described the loss as difficult to put into words. He wrote:

From our beginnings on the Second City stage, to SCTV, to the movies we did with Chris Guest, to our six glorious years on Schitt’s Creek, I cherished our working relationship, but most of all our friendship. And I will miss her. My heart goes out to Bo, Matthew, Luke, and the entire O’Hara family.”
Rolling Stone also reproduced Levy’s statement and reported that he gave it to the publication.

A partnership that spanned stages, films and television
Second City and SCTV
Levy began his account with the Second City stage, where he and O’Hara’s shared creative history started, then named SCTV as the next chapter. Rather than describe their relationship only through their later television fame, his tribute emphasized how long their professional and personal connection had endured.
Christopher Guest’s films
Levy also recalled making films with Christopher Guest. Rolling Stone identifies their joint projects as Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind and For Your Consideration. The films extended a collaboration rooted in improvisational performance and brought the pair together in different comic settings.

Schitt’s Creek
Levy called their time on Schitt’s Creek “six glorious years.” The two played Johnny and Moira Rose, a married couple whose relationship anchored much of the series. Rolling Stone reported that both actors won Golden Globes for their roles.

The Associated Press reported that O’Hara died in Los Angeles at 71 after a brief illness. That report did not state a cause of death, and no cause should be inferred from it.
The AP also reported tributes from a wide range of colleagues and collaborators, including O’Hara’s son Dan Levy and director Christopher Guest. The remembrances underscored the breadth of her relationships across comedy, film and television, while Eugene Levy’s statement offered a particularly personal account of a partnership that stretched across more than five decades.
