Eskimo Joe’s 2026 Australian tour celebrated 20 years of Black Fingernails, Red Wine, the Fremantle band’s 2006 album. The announced format put the album in full first, followed by a career-spanning hits set, with Alex Lloyd as special guest. The tour has now passed: its Fremantle and Adelaide event listings are marked sold out, and Fremantle ticket sales are closed.

What the anniversary tour promised

The tour marked the 20th anniversary of Black Fingernails, Red Wine. Eskimo Joe advertised a two-part performance: the album played live in full, followed by a second set of hits spanning the band’s career. Singer-songwriter Alex Lloyd was named as special guest. The show format and guest were listed on the band’s official event pages.

For guitarist Stu MacLeod, the anniversary was also an opportunity to revisit material that had not previously reached the stage. PerthNow quoted him saying, “It’s a chance for us to relive a pretty special moment in time for us, and to revisit those songs that never made it to the stage. Some of my favourite Eskimo Joe songs are incidental album tracks that we just never performed live.”

Where the 2026 tour went

PerthNow’s 13 November 2025 announcement said the tour would start in Fremantle with shows on 1 and 2 May 2026, then visit Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. The inspected event pages corroborate a Fremantle event on 2 May and an Adelaide event on 5 June, but do not confirm precise dates for every city.

Album milestones reported around the tour

PerthNow described Black Fingernails, Red Wine as a 2006 release and reported that the single debuted at number one on the ARIA album chart, that the album achieved 4× Platinum sales, and that the release led to four ARIA awards. Those achievement figures are PerthNow’s reporting in its 13 November 2025 article, rather than figures independently verified here.

Frontman Kav Temperley told PerthNow: “I have nothing but gratitude for the fact that we can still go out and play Black Fingernails, Red Wine and that it still means so much to so many people, it absolutely blows my mind and warms my heart.”
