Ruth, Clapton’s elder daughter
Ruth is Clapton’s elder daughter. The official biography identifies her mother as Yvonne Kelly and gives Ruth’s birth as January 1985; it does not provide a day.
Conor, Clapton’s son
Conor was Clapton’s son with Lori del Santo. Clapton’s official biography says Conor died on 20 March 1991 after falling from a window in his mother’s New York City apartment. The official timeline places Clapton’s work on songs including “Tears in Heaven” in the period after Conor’s death; it does not warrant further claims here about private feelings or the song’s specific intent. See the official 1990s timeline.

Names and dates: what the sources establish
The official biography supplies the children’s names as Ruth, Julie Rose, Ella Mae, Sophie, and Conor. For the daughters, it gives birth months and years rather than full dates. Other sources give additional details, but exact birth days and fuller names are not needed to identify Clapton’s children and should not be treated as settled here. Where’s Eric! also provides a secondary account of the family, including Conor’s birth date: Eric Clapton’s Family.
