Enter the Dragon is a 1973 martial-arts action film directed by Robert Clouse and starring Bruce Lee. Its story follows Lee, a Shaolin fighter who goes undercover at a tournament on an island controlled by the criminal mastermind Han. For home video, Criterion’s verified release is part of the seven-disc Bruce Lee: His Greatest Hits Blu-ray collection—not a confirmed standalone Criterion edition.
What is Enter the Dragon about?
Lee enters Han’s island tournament as an undercover participant. Han is a renegade monk who controls the island and operates a criminal enterprise. Warner Bros.’ synopsis adds the personal motive: Han’s men killed Lee’s sister, turning the mission into an act of revenge. Lee joins the operation with secret-service approval.

Why is Enter the Dragon significant in Bruce Lee’s career?
The Hong Kong Film Archive says filming had been completed before Lee died on July 20, 1973. The American Film Institute identifies Enter the Dragon as the last feature-length film he completed. That distinction is about completion, not release: the film came out after his death. Criterion describes it as Lee’s greatest international success and “one of the most influential action movies ever made”; that is the Collection’s critical characterization, not a quantified ranking.
What should you know about the film’s format and runtime?
Criterion lists the film at 99 minutes, in color, with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio and English-language audio. Its product page describes the included version as the 1973 theatrical version.
Rank #2
Where can you watch or buy Enter the Dragon on home video?
The verified Criterion option is the seven-disc Blu-ray set Bruce Lee: His Greatest Hits. Criterion says it includes the rarely seen 99-minute 1973 theatrical version in a new 2K digital restoration with uncompressed original monaural sound. This is a Bruce Lee collection, not a confirmed standalone Criterion release of the film. Warner Bros.’ official Japanese home-entertainment page lists Blu-ray and DVD formats, but availability and editions can vary by market.
