Emma Roberts shared the first photo of her son, Rhodes—not her mother, Kelly Cunningham. The contemporaneous reports published January 12 and 13, 2021, attribute the post to Roberts; Cunningham’s reported role was an earlier accidental leak of the pregnancy news.
Who shared the first photo of Rhodes?
Entertainment Tonight reported on January 12, 2021, that Roberts posted the first photo of her and Garrett Hedlund’s son. E! News reported the same the next day. Neither account attributes the photo post to Roberts’s mother.
The confusion may come from separate coverage of Kelly Cunningham, who was reported to have accidentally revealed Roberts’s pregnancy earlier. That was a different event, not the first-photo post.
What did Emma Roberts write?
ET reproduced Roberts’s Instagram caption: “Thank you 2020 for getting one thing right ☀️ Our bright light Rhodes Robert Hedlund.” The post introduced the baby by the name Rhodes Robert Hedlund.

When was Rhodes born, and what did the photo show?
ET reported that Rhodes was born on December 27, 2020. E! News also gave that date and specified that the birth was in Los Angeles. The photo was described as an outdoor image of Roberts cradling her son. ET said the baby wore a beige beanie and was wrapped in a peach-colored blanket; E! described Roberts and Hedlund wearing orange.
The reports do not identify the blanket’s maker or model, so the image does not establish a specific product.
