Eminem’s career milestones span Grammy wins, a major award for “Lose Yourself,” record-setting U.S. certifications and chart achievements. This is an editorial selection, not an official ranking: the accomplishments below use different measures, so each figure is tied to its source, geography and timeframe.
1. He has won 15 Grammy Awards
The Recording Academy lists Eminem with 15 Grammy wins and 47 nominations through the 2026 Grammy Awards. His first two wins came at the 42nd Grammy Awards for “My Name Is” and The Slim Shady LP. Recording Academy artist biography.

2. “Lose Yourself” brought an Academy Award and his first No. 1 hit
Interscope’s biography credits Eminem with an Academy Award connected to “Lose Yourself,” while the Recording Academy says the song, from the 8 Mile soundtrack, became his first No. 1 hit in 2002. These are distinct achievements: a film award and a chart milestone. Interscope biography; Recording Academy artist biography.
3. He reached a record-setting RIAA singles-certification milestone
In a March 8, 2022 announcement about an RIAA update, Eminem’s official site said he had become the most-certified singles artist in the history of the RIAA Gold & Platinum Program. The announcement reported 73.5 million newly awarded units, bringing his career total to 227.5 million RIAA award units: 166 million for singles and 61.5 million for albums. These are figures reported for that 2022 update, not a current 2026 tally. Eminem’s March 2022 announcement.

- Originally released on December 6, 2005, Curtain Call - The Hits features Eminem's most popular songs from his first 4 albums and the 8 Mile soundtrack, released through Aftermath/Interscope
4. He had six RIAA Diamond awards by March 2022
The same March 2022 announcement counted three Diamond albums and three Diamond singles, and said Eminem was among seven artists with at least three Diamond album awards. This is a dated count; it should not be read as a complete or current certification total. Eminem’s March 2022 announcement.
5. Billboard named him Artist of the Decade for 2000–2009
Interscope says Billboard named Eminem Artist of the Decade for 2000–2009. It is a recognition tied to that decade, rather than a claim about his standing in every later period. Interscope biography.

6. He was Nielsen SoundScan’s top-selling U.S. artist of the 2000s
Interscope reports that Eminem sold 32.2 million albums in the United States during the 2000s and identifies him as Nielsen SoundScan’s top-selling artist of that decade. The figure is U.S.-specific and covers album sales in the 2000s; it is not a worldwide total or a current career sales figure. Interscope biography.
7. The Slim Shady LP made a major-label breakthrough
The Recording Academy describes The Slim Shady LP as Eminem’s 1999 major-label debut. It opened at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and earned his first two Grammy wins, marking a breakthrough in both chart performance and award recognition. Recording Academy artist biography.

8. The Marshall Mathers LP reached major sales and certification milestones
The official Eminem Store says The Marshall Mathers LP has sold 25 million copies worldwide. The store’s anniversary page also describes it as certified 12× platinum and Diamond by the RIAA. Worldwide copies sold and U.S. RIAA certification are different measures, so the figures should not be combined. The page’s publication date is not stated. Official Eminem Store anniversary page.
9. Curtain Call: The Hits spent a decade on the Billboard Top 200
Interscope calls Curtain Call: The Hits the first hip-hop album to spend a full decade on the Billboard Top 200. That is the label’s historical characterization of the album’s chart longevity. Interscope biography.
Rank #4
- EMINEM EMINEM PRESENTS THE RE-UP
10. He sustained No. 1 studio-album debuts and made a major chart leap
Interscope says Music to Be Murdered By was Eminem’s ninth consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1. The label also reports that the release of its Side B returned the album to No. 3 and broke a 50-year record for the biggest chart leap by an album. Those are label-reported historical claims; the biography does not specify the chart issue dates or the exact week-by-week movement. Interscope biography.
What these accomplishments measure
The milestones are not interchangeable. Grammy wins and Billboard’s decade recognition reflect awards or institutional recognition; RIAA certifications count U.S. certified units as reported at a particular time; worldwide album sales use a different geography and measure; and chart peaks or longevity describe performance on a particular chart. Keeping those distinctions intact makes the scale of the achievements clearer.
