She described the loss as profound, accepted accountability as his mother and said she would set stronger boundaries around what she shares about her children online.
What Emilie Kiser said
In her statement, Kiser wrote: “I take full accountability as Trigg’s mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him.” The words were her personal reflection, not an official finding about the circumstances of Trigg’s death. The Miami Herald reproduced portions of her statement, as did KTAR News.
Kiser also reflected specifically on pool safety: “One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it’s something I will never overlook again.” She presented this as a lesson she carries, not as an independently established conclusion about the incident.
Her plans for sharing about her children
Kiser said the tragedy had made her reconsider the boundaries between online relationships and her children’s privacy. She wrote: “Moving forward, I will be establishing more boundaries with what I share online.” Her statement described an intention to limit what she shares; it did not specify particular rules or changes.

What is known about the timeline and legal decision
According to contemporaneous coverage, Trigg was found in the family pool on May 12, 2025, and died six days later. KTAR News reported the timeline.
The later legal decision is distinct from Kiser’s personal statement. Police recommended a child-abuse charge for review, but the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced on July 25, 2025, that it would not charge Brady Kiser, stating that “there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction.” The office added that, “Given a court order, no additional details can be discussed at this time.” A police recommendation is not a filed charge, conviction or finding of guilt. The county attorney’s office issued the decision; KTAR News reported the charging context.
