Ed Sheeran’s Australia and New Zealand tour was only a rumour when a May 2025 report described a possible early-2026 itinerary. Frontier Touring and MG Live later confirmed the Loop Tour for January to March 2026, then added a second Auckland show. Those dates have now passed, so the tour is a completed event—not an upcoming ticket opportunity.
What the May 2025 report said
On May 16, 2025, Rolling Stone AU/NZ reported a possible Australia and New Zealand tour based on a message shared on the teddy’svinylbreakfast Instagram account. The message read: “oz / nz top of next year, then latam, then usa.” Rolling Stone described the plans as unconfirmed and reported that local promoter Frontier Touring declined to comment when contacted.
That distinction matters: the report was about a possible plan, not an official announcement by Sheeran or his promoters. The message was attributed to the Instagram account that shared it; it should not be treated as a verified direct statement from Sheeran.
What promoters later confirmed
On July 22, 2025, Frontier Touring and MG Live announced the Loop Tour for Australia and New Zealand in January, February and March 2026. The announced stadium itinerary covered Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in New Zealand, and Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide in Australia. Frontier Touring announced an additional Auckland show on July 28, 2025.

The later announcement confirmed a tour in the region, but it does not change the status of the original May report: that report was unconfirmed when published. The announced tour dates have elapsed as of October 8, 2026.
What the Loop Tour show was expected to feature
ABC reported that the show would put Sheeran’s loop pedal at its centre. In ABC’s July 22, 2025 report, Sheeran described the planned production as a “new stage, new tricks, new set, new songs, old songs.” He also spoke about how his pedal had expanded from the one he used at the start of his career. The available reporting does not identify a specific pedal model.

The loop-pedal concept connects the planned show to Sheeran’s performance style: he builds layered musical parts live. The announcement also linked the tour to his album Play, offering a listening context for the planned set, rather than establishing a particular final setlist.
Tour context and scale
When announcing the tour in 2025, Frontier Touring said Sheeran had sold more than 2.5 million tickets across Australia and New Zealand to that point. That is the promoter’s cumulative figure as of the announcement, not a count of tickets for the Loop Tour alone.

For comparison, ABC reported crowds of 110,000 and 108,000 at the two Melbourne Cricket Ground nights on Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour in March 2023. Those attendance figures refer to those two earlier shows, not the Loop Tour.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Are tickets still available?
No current ticket opportunity for these announced dates should be inferred: the January–March 2026 tour has passed. Frontier Touring’s historical FAQ directed fans to authorized agencies by city, including AXS, Ticketek and Ticketmaster, and said tickets were accessed through the relevant agency’s iOS or Android app. It also warned against unauthorized resellers. That guidance applied to the completed tour and is not an invitation to buy tickets now.
