Dynamite’s June 19, 2025 announcement moved specified upcoming releases from Diamond’s Final Order Cutoff to Lunar Distribution, starting with books scheduled for July 9 and July 16. It did not say that every Dynamite title, territory, or sales channel changed at once. Dynamite’s current information lists Lunar for comic retailers and Simon & Schuster for bookstores.
When did Dynamite leave Diamond?
On June 19, 2025, GoCollect/ComicList published a media release saying that Dynamite titles previously offered to retailers through Diamond’s Final Order Cutoff would be available to order through Lunar that week. The first named releases were scheduled for in-store dates of July 9 and July 16, 2025. The announcement said more information about ongoing distribution would follow; it was not a detailed account of a single, complete changeover. Read the June 19 announcement.
First releases named for July 9
- Gargoyles: Demona #1
- Space Ghost Jonny Quest Space Quest #2
- Red Sonja vs the Army of Darkness #3
- Vampirella #3
- Zootopia #4
First releases named for July 16
- Red Sonja Noir
- Space Ghost Annual
- The Herculoids #5
- ThunderCats #16
For those listed books, the practical instruction was to order through Lunar. The announcement does not establish that all Dynamite products or all distribution territories and sales channels moved on either date.
Are Dynamite comics distributed by Lunar now?
Dynamite’s current information page identifies Lunar Distribution as a distributor to comic retailers and Simon & Schuster as a distributor to bookstores. That describes the publisher’s current channel information, not every historical arrangement or territory. Check Dynamite’s current information.

Lunar’s official site offers publisher catalogs, previews, release listings, and retailer support information. Retailers can consult it for ordering and support details; readers can use listings to check forthcoming releases. A catalog listing does not guarantee that a particular local shop has an issue in stock. Visit Lunar’s catalog and retailer resources.
What does Diamond’s bankruptcy have to do with the change?
Diamond’s debtors filed voluntary Chapter 11 petitions on January 14, 2025, according to a later filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland. The timing places Dynamite’s distribution announcement amid a period of instability for Diamond, but neither the announcement nor the court filing establishes that bankruptcy was the sole reason Dynamite chose Lunar. In a motion filed August 18, 2025, consignors named Dynamic Forces, Inc., also known as Dynamite Entertainment, and alleged that amounts were owed in connection with consigned stock. The motion alleged total post-petition amounts of $1,091,230.47, including $509,114.21 through May 15, 2025, and $582,116.26 after that date. The movants said they lacked up-to-date, accurate real-time reporting and warned that the amounts could increase. These are qualified claims in a motion, not a final court finding or independently audited sales statistics.

Dynamite currently identifies Lunar for comic-retailer distribution. For a particular title, retailers should check Lunar’s current catalog and retailer support information, then confirm ordering details with their usual distributor contacts. Readers looking for a specific issue should ask their comic shop about its order and inventory; a publisher or distributor listing alone does not confirm local availability.
